    Built in 1898 as the manufacturing plant for Kabuto Beer, the building is valuable as a remembrance of the red brick beer factory built during the Meiji period (1868–1912). It is even a nationally Registered Tangible Cultural Property. The designer, Yorinaka Tsumaki, was a master of the architectural world at the time. There is a permanent exhibit inside that shows the history of the birth of Kabuto Beer. In addition, there are exhibitions dealing with a wide range of subjects and the Handa Red Brick Marche open-air market. You can taste draft Kabuto Beer at a spacious cafe.

    A Nationally Designated Historic Site located in Minamiyakata, Sakae-cho, Toyoake City. This is the site of the headquarters of Imagawa Yoshimoto's forces when they were defeated by an invading Oda Nobunaga and his troops in 1560 at the Battle of Okehazama. A stone monument marks the spot where Imagawa Yoshimoto died.

    A historic site located in Zoyage Okutono-cho, Okazaki City. The site of an ancient Okutono Domain encampment, today a portion of earthen wall and residence still stands. The restored Kinpoutei teahouse operates as a restaurant serving meals. A history museum, a mausoleum interning generations of domain lords, and a shop selling vegetables are also located on the grounds. Visitors can also enjoy viewing seasonal flowers in the Horai no Niwa garden and other areas at the site.

    The birth home of children's story author Nankichi Nimi, located in Yanabe Naka-machi, Handa City. Until his passing at the age of 29, Nimi wrote numerous novels, poems, and popular children's stories, including Gon, the Little Fox and Buying Mittens. In 1983, the city of Handa purchased Nimi's birth home, restored it, and opened it to the general public in 1987.

    ごんぎつねに代表される児童作家の生家です。近くには彼岸花の土手もあり、ごんぎつねの世界そのものです。

    A public park located in Tahara City, Aichi Prefecture. The park is located on one of the top sites in Japan for shell mounds dating to the late Jomon period and the park also displays cultural artifacts excavated during archeological digs. In the park's museum, visitors can view these artifacts as well as pictures and models which present the lives of the ancient people who once lived here. The museum also holds short class on making magatama comma-shaped beads, a common artifact found in the mounds.

    Popularly known as the Kasadera Kannon Temple, the Ryufuku-ji Temple was founded in 733. It is also the oldest of the Four Owari Kannon Temples. Legends tie the temple to Osho-hime and it has long been viewed as providing luck in love and marriage. According to legend, one day a woman prayed to an image of Kannon; as it was raining, she placed her own hat on the figure. Thereafter, she and Fujiwara no Kanehira, who happened to be visiting the area from the capital, fell in love at first site; she travelled with him back to the capital can came to be called Osho-hime. A temple was built where it stands know to enshrine the figure of Kannon, and it was named the Ryufuku-ji, or “Hat-Covering Temple.”

    "Located approximately a three-minute walk from the Tobu Kyuryo Line's (Linimo) Nagakute Kosenjo Station, this is the location of the 1584 battlefield of the Battle of Komaki and Nagakute, the ferocious battle between Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu. The place where the final fight that decided Ieyasu's victory was held on April 9th of the same year was designated a national historical site. Here the memorial stones of one of Hideyoshi's warriors, Ikeda Tsuneoki (otherwise known as Ikeda Shonyu) and his son Motosuke stand, and this place is now known as ""the ancient battlefield park."""

    This village was the place where the Matsudaira clan originated, a mighty shogun clan which flourished during the Edo period. The roughly two hectare area stretching from Matsudaira Toshogu Shrine to the Kogetsuin in Matsudaira-cho, Toyota City is maintained as Matsudaira-go Park, a nature and history park. Much of the old village's historic scenery and structures, dating back to the distant Muromachi period, still stand intact along the park's walking paths, and visitors can take in the ancient elegance and atmosphere. Some of the park's many highlights include a local farmers market and a history museum. Visitors can eat udon and soba noodles, and sweets like tenka mochi rice cakes in the samurai estate-styled Tenka Jaya rest area.

    Located approximately a three-minute walk from the Tobu Kyuryo Line's (Linimo) Nagakute Kosenjo Station, this historical park was the site of the Battle of Komaki and Nagakute. As the site of the decisive final battle between Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu, it contains an open air park designed to mimic an ancient battlefield using the Sakkien method; Toyotomi Hideyoshi's burial stone and more. It was listed as one of the 100 Best Historical Parks in Japan, and plays host to the Nagakute Kosenba cherry blossom festival at the beginning of April every year.

    "Located approximately a 90-minute drive from the Tomei Expressway's Toyokawa Interchange, this stone slab with a haiku written on it is located near the entrance of Irago Seaside Golf Club. In November 1687, Matsuo Basho visited his favorite pupil, Tokoku, who had secluded himself in Hominosato, and while on an excursion to Cape Irago he carved the following poem onto a stone: ""The inimitable cape of Irago, the call of the hawk."" Approximately 100 years after Basho's visit, on the 100 year anniversary of Tsuboi's death, local poets included it in his death poems, and 4 years later (1793), they erected this slab to commemorate Basho's visit."

    "Located approximately a 90-minute drive from the Tomei Expressway's Toyokawa Interchange, this monument is engraved with a waka poem, built on the slopes of Mt. Koyama, which can be seen behind the lighthouse located at the tip of the Irago cape. Erected in 1961, the poem: ""Life's regrets are washed by the waves, cutting and eating the seaweed of the island of Irago,"" taken from the Manyoshu, has been carved in Suiken Suzuki's hand. It is said that this poem was composed by Omi no Okimi, who had been swept away to Irago, but recent research instead claims that this style of poem was written by villagers in the region (although the specific author is unknown)."

Aichi is a prefecture of great natural beauty with Nagoya city at its heart, a busy hub home to a labyrinth of underground shops and the 17th-century Nagoya Castle. Castles are easy to find in this history-rich prefecture, but the highlight for history buffs has to be the Museum Meiji-mura, where preserved buildings from the turn of the 20th century are displayed in all their grandeur in an outdoor museum.
