Since the park is located on a hill, it offers great views, including the steam locomotives leaving and arriving at Senzu Station, and from the Sky Walk viewing path, one can enjoy views of the townscape of Senzu and the tea fields. Sound-producing play equipment, including the Sound Faucet, the Sound Telescope, and the Wind Song has been installed around the park, allowing visitors to play with sound. The spacious lawn with benches is an ideal place to relax surrounded by the natural beauty of Mt. Chisha. Local people especially love the park for its famous ""weeping"" cherry trees."

The museum, in the back of the building, provides a nostalgic space by recreating the train station from the 1950s and 60s. Old steam locomotives and passenger cabins are on display, as well as many items that will tug on your heartstrings, such as the telephone booth, and the advertising mirror which is the only one left in the world.

Shizuoka Areas

around-area-map

With the giant Pacific Ocean to the south and the great Mount Fuji to the north, Shizuoka prefecture is blessed with some of the best views the country has to offer. The white sand beaches of the Izu Peninsula are a rare find on mainland Japan, neighbored by beautiful cliffs, tumbling hills, and natural hot springs. As Japan’s largest producer of green tea, the age-old tradition of tea drinking is ubiquitous in Shizuoka, from the miles of tea fields to the old tea houses hosting traditional tea ceremonies.
