    This zoo in Suruga Ward, Shizuoka City is known as one of the leading zoos in the country with almost 700 animals covering 160 species. The pens have been built to resemble the animal's natural habitat and include a wide variety of facilities including the Penguin House, the Red Panda House, and the Wild Animal House where you can watch the animals from up close. The popular Flying Megadome and Petting Zoo also draw large crowds.

    We had a great time watching the seals. And there was a huge slide which was fun too. It is like a roller slide from the top of the mountain.

Along with appreciating the pieces of art there is a cafe and a multi-purpose room almost the same size as the gallery. It is used for all variety of events. On rainy days you can get to the museum from Shizuoka Station without needing to get wet.

Fuji, Izu peninsula, Suruga Bay, and Miho no Matsubara from the top of the 52-meter-tall ferris wheel. This trip through the air with a full view of Shimizu Port is 13 minutes round-trip. You can also make use of the wanwan-nyannyan gondolas which let pets ride (only two cars). At night, the illumination and unique night scenery of the port are extremely beautiful, so it was registered as a ""Night View Heritage of Japan"" in 2019."

They do the whole process, from cultivation to processing and selling. A characteristic feature is that they offer house rental for strawberry-picking for families and small groups. The strawberry-picking season is from New Year's day to early May. During the season, you can bring in your own lunch boxes and juice drinks. At the adjacent gelato shop, they sell gelatos featuring home-grown stone wall strawberries and carefully selected milk year-round.

    This museum is located about a three-minute walk from the Suruga Ward Office. It was founded in 1971 by Konosuke Oishi (deceased), who established Shizuoka Shimbun and Shizuoka Broadcasting Corporation. There are no regular exhibits. Instead, there is a collection exhibit displaying roughly 1,200 articles mainly from the Oishi collection (modern Japanese paintings and early modern to modern documents assembled by the Mr. Oishi), as well as planned exhibits and special exhibits. You can also get a look at modern Japanese paintings by Gaho Hashimoto and Taikan Yokoyama, letters of Tokugawa Ieyasu and Tokugawa Hidetada, and documents of politicians and thinkers from the end of the Shogunate and around the Meiji Restoration.

    This park is located at the terminus of Aoba Symbol Road, in the center of the city area of Shizuoka City. The park is divided into four zones: water, light, green, and music. Each of them has a carillon tower, a music fountain, a square, a playground, and more. Fountain shows are held every hour, in which water shoots out of the fountains together with the melody of the carillon played as a chime show. At night, the fountain is illuminated, so you can enjoy a fantastical scene where the fountain changes over time with the lighting.
