    The Matsukawa Walkway is a path approximately one kilometer in length which follows the Mastukawa River in Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture. It’s a great place to enjoy a relaxing stroll with some stylish looking lights and flowering trees and shrubs like cherry blossom, weeping willow and wisteria adorning the way. Along the path are many things to see such as the Memorial Museum of Ito born literary man Kinoshita Mokutaro, and the Miura Anjin (William Adams) memorial monument, as well as the former ryokan Tokaikan which was built of wood and is now open to the public as a historical and cultural sightseeing spot. Lots of people come to Matsukawa Walkway to see the cherry blossom during the spring months.

    The white Kadowakisaki lighthouse with observation deck is one of the sightseeing highlights of the popular Jogasaki Coast in Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture. With a total height of 24.9 meters, the first observation deck sits at 17 meters high and the second at four meters. As well as being a popular spot for photographs, on clear days it is also a fabulous scenic spot with views of the distant Izu Shichito Islands and the Amagi Mountains. The lighthouse is also situated right next door to the Kadowaki Suspension Bridge where you can experience the thrill of precipitous cliffs.

    This is a glassware workshop and gallery in Yawatano, Ito City. Other than selling glassware products, workshops are also held where visitors can experience making glassware. Visitors can try their hand at fusing, sandblasting or making glass beads in about 30 minutes to two hours.

    Taizanen located on Prefectural Highway No.19 in Usami, Ito City is a mikan orange tourist farm. There are two picking options for mikan oranges: the basic option includes unlimited consumption on the farm where you can pick sweet Watson pomelo in spring and satsuma mandarin in winter. With the souvenir option, you can take some oranges home as a souvenir. Inside the farm, it sells various mikan oranges and jam.

    Yawatano Kiln in Izukogen Taiken no Sato on Higashi Izu Road in Yawatano, Izu City is a pottery-making interactive facility. It is one of the largest scale interactive facilities in Kanto Region as it has 32 electric wheels and 120 hand-forming seats. Popular hands-on activities such as electric wheels and hand-forming are available without a booking. In addition, it offers a range of interactive programs including an underglaze painting experience, etching art and lamp shade making in which lamp holes are made pre-shaped lamp shades.

    This popular promenade follows the Itogawa River that flows through the center of Atami and descends from the mountain to the seaside water park.     This magnificent lava rock coast extends for some nine kilometers. Along it is the 48 meter-long, 23 meter-tall Kadowaki Suspension Bridge that spans the sea between Hanshiro Otoshi and Kadowaki Cape. Next to the bridge is the Jogasaki Blues monument, one of the coast's points of interest. The monument was created to commemorate the increase in tourism in the area caused by the release of the 1968 smash hit Jogasaki Blues by mood kayo music group Akira Kurosawa and the Ross Primos.

    These scenic cliffs in Atami City continue for about one kilometer south of Uomisaki. Its name, which means brocade inlet, stems from the bright five-colored light that shines in the inlet when the sun rises. The 80 meter-tall cliffs are lined with a number of unusual rock formations carved by the raging waves, including Kabutoiwa, Kibangan, Eboshi-iwa, and Benten-iwa.

The experience is available to grade school children and older. It is a popular spot with Japanese people, as well as with tourists from abroad."

    A 20-minute walk from Usami Station on the JR Ito Line. At this orchard amidst its peaceful environment you can enjoy mikan orange picking and they also sell other local specialties. This is the largest region for growing mikan oranges in the region and during the autumn season you can enjoy picking Unshu Mikan oranges while they have Amanatsu Mikan oranges starting in February. They also grow and sell rare orange varieties throughout the four seasons. The shop has a stately appearance and was assembled entirely without nails, including eaves supported by logs from a Hinoki Cypress estimated to have been 60 years old. It also was used in the filming of Like Asura, a 2003 film by director Yoshimitsu Morita.

    A 15-minute drive from JR Ito Station. The lake is a dam-lake formed with the construction of Okuno Dam across the Ito-Okawa River. Okuno Dam is the Ito Peninsula's only rockfill dam as is equipped with various hydrophilic facilities including an observation deck, water play area, walking paths, and more, transforming it into a place for relaxation for the local residents. As you stroll the nearly five-kilometer walking trail you can familiarize yourself with the signs of the passing seasons such as the moss phlox that appears in mid-April and the changing autumn colors in the fall season. You can also enjoy lure fishing and fly fishing making this a popular spot for anglers.

    A workshop classroom located in front of Ito Station, just a one-minute walk from the Station. Come use their beautiful glass to create your own original piece of art that won't exist anywhere else on the planet. They offer two different hands-on classes, their Fusing class which involves arranges Italian Venetian glass and their Sandblast class in which uses air pressure to blow sand on the glass surface drawing a pattern. In the Fusing class you can make accessories including earrings or chose to make something such as cocktail muddlers, photo frames, plates, or other items and anyone from children to adults can easily participate.

    A 70-minute drive from the Numazu Interchange on the Tomei Expressway. They offer bamboo shoot gathering for a limited period from early April to early May. The vast bamboo grove covers nearly 20,000-tsubo (nearly 66,000 square meters) and features a rich black soil, perfect for the growth of bamboo shoots characterized by their unique texture and tenderness. You can find your own bamboo shoots, symbolizing the taste of spring, dig them up with your own hands, and then take them home with you. Boots and hoes are available to borrow free of charge, and experienced guides will carefully teach you how to find and harvest the bamboo shoots making this more that suited for beginners. The bamboo grove is pet friendly.

    "This stone monument to the accomplishments of the ""blue-eyed samurai"" Miura Anjin stands in Kawaguchi Park about a 15-minute walk from JR Ito Station. Anjin, whose real name was William Adams, was an Englishman who served as a trusted diplomatic advisor of the shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu. He built Japan's first western-style sailing ship here on the orders of Tokugawa using a novel ""sand dock"" shipbuilding method. A festival commemorating this achievement, the Anjin Matsuri, is held every August. A mosaic depicting the ship's construction and a stone monument bearing the lyrics and the musical score of the ""Anjin Ondo"" folk song are located near the monument."

    This creative workshop is in Atami, the doorstep of the Izu Peninsula. Located roughly 15 minutes on foot from Atami Station, the workshop holds various types of workshops and lessons in silver accessories, stained glass, sandblasting, and more. Each of the sessions requires two to three hours. Theworkshop for silver accessories is popular, as you can use pure silver clay to do clay work or make an accessory like you are making pottery. It is nice that they prepare various types of design molds for use.

    "These ruins are of a residence in which the Meiji period literary great, Shoyo Tsubouchi, who was known as a translator of Shakespeare's works, lived his life. He adored Atami, living here from 1920 until he passed in 1935, a 15-year period. The origin of the name Soshisha comes from the two large persimmon trees which are said to be over 300 years old. While living in Ginza Town before, Mr. Tsubouchi translated Shakespeare's works and wrote comedies such as ""Nagori-no-Hoshi-Zukiyo"" and ""Yoshitoki-no-Saigo"", but the bustling, active town made it difficult for him to focus on writing and so, he moved to Atami."

    This is the villa of Sonoko Sugimoto, a historical author known for works such as Koshu-no-Kishi (Naoki Prize) and Takizawa Bakin (Yoshikawa Eiji Prize). Inside the building, built in 1977, there are primarily works of Ms. Sugimoto, but also works and daily items of literati connected to Atami on display. Ms. Sugimoto was honored with the designation of Honorary Citizen of Atami, the second such person, in 1997. Originally she used this manor as a summer home, but she made it her primary residence in 1980. In the 15 years from that point on, she continued writing in the manor.
