"This Italian restaurant is located a three-minute walk from Jogasaki-Kaigan Station on the Izu Kyuko Line. The homelike restaurant, which features a terrace with a miniature garden, serves cuisine made with the rich seasonal ingredients of the Izu region. Most popular of all is their seafood, which is sourced from Futo Fishing Port. We recommend their ""jizakana no carpaccio,"" which is made with the catch of the day, and their garlic butter roasted mussels, which has earned many repeat customers. Customers can even dine with their dog in the restaurant's garden terrace. The restaurant does not accept reservations for lunch service."

This long-established soba shop is located at the entrance to Izu, about five minutes by car from Atami Station. Since its founding in 1935, it has continued to meticulously make soba using domestically-grown soba. The soba has a characteristic clean aroma and crispness of flavor. Also well rated are the tendon (rice bowl topped with tempura), with thick tare sauce poured over tempura, and katsudon (rice bowl with topped with pork cutlet and egg), in which you can feel the gentle flavor of stock.

    急に寒くなったので暖かいものを求めておそばを食べに行きました。店内は綺麗ですがおしぼり等のサービスはないです。天ぷらそばの天ぷらもさくさく感はなく、観光地のおそばやさんという印象です。

Shizuoka Areas

around-area-map

With the giant Pacific Ocean to the south and the great Mount Fuji to the north, Shizuoka prefecture is blessed with some of the best views the country has to offer. The white sand beaches of the Izu Peninsula are a rare find on mainland Japan, neighbored by beautiful cliffs, tumbling hills, and natural hot springs. As Japan’s largest producer of green tea, the age-old tradition of tea drinking is ubiquitous in Shizuoka, from the miles of tea fields to the old tea houses hosting traditional tea ceremonies.
