    Gifu Gujo-shi Koyamaichi
A 70-kilometer stretch of road that connects Hida Takayama and Gujo Hachiman. Running along the Yoshida River, it offers lovely seasonal scenery. It's been selected as one of the top 33 areas in Hida-Mino for viewing the foliage, and visitors come from all over the country during fall when the mountains turn golden. The many broadleaf trees and stark differences in elevation mean that the season lasts for an extended period, starting with the Nishiure Pass. Mid-May to June sees the mountains covered in fresh young leaves, giving a feel of nature's vibrancy.

It's a great road to take in the great outdoors and the pure mountain air. It's also been selected as one of the Top 33 Spots for Autumn Leaves in Hida and Mino, the best time to see it is at the beginning of October when the poison ivy growing up the larch trees turn a brilliant red. In spring, Mt. Ontake's snow-capped peak and the young green leaves contrast beautifully along the route.
