    Gero Onsen Gassho-Mura is an outdoor museum featuring a collection of traditional gassho-style thatched farmhouses that have been moved to the site from areas such as Shirakawa-go. There is also the Kage-e Geki Shirasagi-za shadow puppet theatre, displays about traditional folk customs, and workshops where visitors can try their hand at craft activities, etc.; at Gero Onsen Gassho-Mura, visitors can get a real feel for how people used to live in the Hida region. Visitors can also enjoy the “Gassho no Ashiyu” footbath, which uses water from the Gero Onsen hot springs (one of the top three ranked hot springs systems in Japan).

    This 128-hectare forest park is in Minokamo City, Gifu Prefecture. The view from the Yorokobi-no-Toride tower at the top of their famous 777 step flight of stairs is worth a look. The park has facilities like an athletics field, a barbecue area, and a putter golf course. Their water curtain fountain comes recommended in summer. There are 47,000 flowering trees of 50 varieties like mountain cherry and rhododendron. Whether it's flowers in bloom, autumn leaves, or forest bathing, there's something to enjoy in every season.

    This area replicates traditional rural Japan replete with antique Japanese houses. It's about an hour drive from the Takayama Interchange on the Chubu Jukan Expressway. The central communal hot spring bath Isurugi no Yu has a traditional hearth and serves refreshments like goheimochi rice cakes, ice cream, and mousse. It has men's and women's indoor and outdoor bathing facilities and is known for its old-school Japanese ambiance. They also host Okuhida Onsenkyo's oldest morning market. The adjacent Fukuji Fossil Museum has displays of fossils excavated from Fukuchi Onsen that show the area was once at the bottom of the sea.

    A forested area at the southern end of Chubu-Sangaku National Park, a mountain park that covers the entire Northern Alps, this vast area of approximately 3,000 hectares offers a variety of Japan's representative natural scenery. The park’s Furosato Chobo no Oka and mountaintop observatory areas offer sweeping views of the Nobi Plain and Inuyama Castle. Also a popular destination for enjoying night views, the Furusato Chobo no Oka lookout, located close to a parking area, often bustles with people. There is a children’s library called Mori no Honya-san located in the park, making it a popular destination for families with children as well.
