    "An 80-minute drive from the Gifu-Hashima Interchange on the Meishin Expressway and a three-minute drive from the Motosu City Office Neo Branch Government Office. This park was built around the Usuzumi Zakura, a famous ancient cherry tree designated a National Natural Monument estimated to be more than 1,500 years old. ""Usuzumi Zakura"" translates to ""pale ink cherry tree,"" a name derived from the fact the tree appears to have been painted in pale black ink when its white blossoms fall. When the tree is in full bloom in early April, the area bustles with large numbers of visitors, and the tree is lit up at night with LED lights which do not hurt it. The tree has also been selected for inclusion in the Japan Top 100 Sakura Viewing Sites list."

    "This park is located in Fujishiro, Ikeda Town, Ibi County. The cherry trees, planted to prevent landslides, are like a deep haze when they bloom, which gives the name ""Kamagatani"" (Misty Valley). Famous for the approximately 1,500 cherry trees of numerous varieties, such as wild and Yoshino, that bloom there in the spring, this spot is also featured as one of the top 33 cherry blossom spots in Mino and Hida."

    "A 60-minute, 35-kilometer drive from the Sekigahara, Ogaki, and Gifu-Hashima Interchanges on the Meishin Expressway. The Tanigumisan Kegonji Temple is a Tendai Buddhist temple affectionately known as ""Tanigumi-san."" The temple's principal object of worship is an 11-headed Kanzeon Bodhisattva statue. The temple is the 33th temple on the Saigoku 33 Kannon Pilgrimage and, as befits a temple which represents the end of a journey spent adhering to ascetic principles, there is an underground, pitch black Five Precepts labyrinth walked by feeling one's way in the dark and a pair of bronze carp at the entrance to the main temple building which pilgrims traditionally rub prior to ending their abstention from luxuries like meat, fish, and alcohol. The one kilometer long road leading up the shrine has been planted with alternating cherry and maple trees, and in spring visitors can walk through a veritable tunnel of cherry blossoms. Also a renowned destination for fall foliage viewing, in the autumn a fall colors festival is held here as well."

    A park situated along a Prefectural Route connecting to the Terao Pass a 20 minute drive from the Mino Interchange. The park is a renowned destination for viewing cherry blossoms in spring. The park got its start when local residents planted some 300 cherry trees in prayer for peace shortly after the end of WWII in 1951. Today, around 1,000 cherry trees grow along a two kilometer stretch of the Prefectural Route. The best time to view the blossoms is from early through mid-April. During the cherry blossom season, the trees are also lit up at night, providing visitors with a different landscape from that which can be enjoyed during the daytime. In addition, paper lanterns are hung from the trees and stalls and a tea house open up during this time, delighting the many tourists who come here to see the flowers.

    A famous lonesome cherry tree located in Takayama City. Records show this tree was growing here 1,100 years ago. The tree’s name means “Reclining Dragon Cherry” and alludes to the tree’s low hung branches which again take root in the ground, giving it the appearance of a dragon lying down. The surrounding area was once the grounds of the Daito-ji Temple but was turned into Garyu Park in 1989. A cherry blossom festival is held here each year in mid-April. In 1973, the tree was designated a National Natural Monument.

    "This park located in Tarui Town, Fuwa County is on both sides of the Aikawa River. From late March through about early May, over 300 koinobori (carp streamers) can be seen ""swimming"" in the sky above the river. In addition, about 200 Yoshino cherry trees are in bloom from around late March through early April, so you can enjoy the unique sight of intermingling cherry blossoms and koinobori."

    This embankment runs along the Shinsakaigawa River in Kakamigahara City. It's well-known for its cherry blossoms and has been chosen as one of the top 100 cherry blossom viewing sites in Japan. About 1,200 Yoshino cherry trees run along both banks, forming the amazing sight of a blossoming tunnel over the river. The locally born and bred kabuki actor Hyakujuro Ichikawa donated them when the Sakaigawa River Drainage Canal was completed, and they're still known as the Hyakujuro Cherry Trees. Their annual cherry blossom festival in early April with its food stalls along the bank and various events at the nearby park is always crowded with visitors.

    These cherry trees are along the Nakasu River that runs through the center of Anpachi Town which is in between the Ibi and the Nagara Rivers. A walking path runs through the nearly 1,000 cherry trees spread along both banks. They hold a cherry blossom festival yearly in early April when the trees are in bloom. The reflection of the blossoms at full bloom in the river are a sight to behold. Plum trees are also planted along the promenade. From the end of January, visitors enjoy strolling there while feeling the arrival of spring and taking in the scent of the plum blossoms.

    This row of cherry trees runs along both sides of the Hondo Wajutei polder in the Hondo area in northern Wanouchi Town. At their peak in early April, it forms a-kilometer-long cherry blossom tunnel. Rape blossoms come into bloom beneath the cherry trees at the same time, making a lovely contrast of yellow and pink. There are also about 6,000 hydrangeas of roughly 20 varieties that come into bloom in June, giving it the name Hydrangea Road. Locals love walking this path throughout the year. It's about a 20-minute drive from the Gifu Hashima Interchange.

    "This row of cherry trees in Kasamatsu Town has been selected as one of the Top 33 Spots to View Cherry Blossom in the Hida-Mino region. About 200 cherry trees consisting mostly of the Yoshino variety run for about a-kilometer along both sides of the Kiso Riverbank Road. (Formerly called the ""Narazu Senbonzakura Cherry Trees,"" they were planted by the town in 1970. The Kasamatsu Spring Festival is held every year in late March. The blossoms are lit up in the evening and they also hold a Night Festival and the Kasamatsu Jinya Market."

    This relaxing park with seasonal flowers and trees is about a 15-minute drive from Gifu Hashima Interchange. The roughly two-hectare site features about 40,000 plants and trees like camellia, cherry trees, wisteria, and sasanqua. It has one of the city's best equipped playgrounds, with swings, monkey bars, and a playscape with a roller slide, cargo net, rope swing, and lots more. Galaxy Square in the southern part of the park has a fountain with water shooting up from the ground and falling from the arches which is a popular spot with kids especially during summer vacation.

    "This Gifu Prefecture designated Natural Monument has been selected as one of the Top 33 Spots to View Cherry Blossom in the Hida-Mino region. The two stand close together on a small hill across Yamato Bridge in the Wasa district. They are about 400 years old. The name comes from the practice of local farmers who would start preparing their rice nurseries (nawashiro) when the trees were in full bloom. As such, they were also called the ""Calendar Cherry Trees."" They're at their peak from early to mid-April. They are illuminated at night during this period when visitors come from near and far for the wonderful sight of the cherry blossoms reflected in the rice paddies."

    A popular cherry blossom viewing spot located about seven-minute drive from Yoro Railway's Ishizu Station on the Yoro Line. There are 1,000 mountain cherry trees along with other varieties that typically are in full bloom from late March to early April. The trees were transplanted from the nearby mountains to commemorate the creation of a cenotaph for Russo-Japanese War victims. With a profusion of blossoms as the trees have grown larger in recent years, it has become one of the most famous cherry blossom spots in the prefecture. The great variety of blossoms attracts a lot of visitors.

    A cherry tree on the precincts of Ganjoji Temple, said to have been founded by Murakuni no Oyori, a warrior who served during the Onin War. With 20 to 30 petals on each flower, it's thought to be a mountain cherry tree variant. The nationally designated Natural Monument is about 1,200 years old. The name comes from Nakasho Hime, who fled to the temple to escape from her step-mother. Legend says she planted the tree to give thanks and as an offering to protect women of the future.

    This Shinto shrine is said to have been founded in the early 13th century. Its beginnings are said to be associated with Tou Taneyuki of the Tou clan who participated meritoriously in the Jokyu War and received this territory, transferring the spirit of Myoken Bosatsu, the patron deity of the Chiba clan. Gifu Prefecture has designated the shrine's Nanoka Festival held every year on August 7th as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property. About 100 cherry trees of various sizes are planted along the roughly 250-meter approach to the shrine. The tunnel of cherry blossoms that forms when the trees are in full bloom from early to mid-April has been selected as one of the Top 33 Spots to View Cherry Blossom in the Hida-Mino region.

    This park is one of the Hida region's best-known cherry blossom viewing spots. It's said to have gotten its start with the transplanting of 500 saplings of seven cherry varieties grown at Mt. Yoshino in the late Nanbokucho period. Meiji period development and heavy rains during the Heisei period saw its area reduced. Today about 300 Yoshino and double weeping rosebud cherry trees line 600 meters of the Miyagawa River. They are lit up at night during the mid-April full bloom period, creating a marvelous atmosphere. It has been selected as one of the 33 Best Places to View Cherry Blossom in the Hida-Mino region.

    This 25-hectare park is the largest in Takayama City. It's on the site of Takayama Castle, which is said to have taken Kanamori Nagachika, the lord of Hida Province, 16 years to complete. Popular with the locals, it centers on the Ninomaru Park and has walking paths, playground equipment, an open plaza, and an arbor. There are also about 700 Yoshino cherry trees, and visitors enjoy seeing the blossoms while taking in a view of the town. They're typically at their peak in mid-April. Engulfed in silence and surrounded by abundant nature, the park has been selected as one of the Top 100 Forested Valleys in Japan.

    This park overlooks the Tajimi townscape between it and the Toki River, and is located a ten-minute drive from Tajimi Station. In the spring, this park is crowded with people who come to view the cherry blossoms that have been selected as one of the 33 Hida and Mino cherry blossoms. Inside the park, there is a viewing platform with a slide, and many people go up to the viewing platform to see a sweeping view of the town's rows of cherry blossoms that are best seen in early April. It is stunning to see approximately 400 cherry blossoms in full bloom, and you can also appreciate them in the evening. At the rest area, pepper dengaku tofu and skewered rice cakes with soy sauce and miso are sold.

    The cherry trees along the Saigawa River that flows around Sumimata Ichiyo Castle are more than 50 years old and stretch for about 2 km. Since 2006, hydrangeas have been planted along the road, and it is also known as "Cherry Blossom Embankment" or "Hydrangea Road.
