    This drive-in minshuku lodge is near Lake Suwa in Okaya City, Nagano Prefecture. They operate a domed boat where you can fish for Japanese pond smelt between October to March. They also have other fishing plans where they provide you with all the equipment you need. Its parking lot can accommodate large buses too, making it popular with visitors sightseeing around Lake Suwa.

Located in the Kanazawa area, the bathhouse is designed to look like a traditional one story Japanese home, borrowing on the local history as a post station town which flourished on the old Koshu Kaido road from the Edo period. Facilities include a large indoor bath, sauna, bath heated from below, and rest lounge. The waters of the bathhouse' simple alkaline spring are said to treat such ailments as nerve pain, sensitivity to cold, fatigue, muscle soreness, and joint pain. ""Kinkei,"" meaning ""golden bird,"" is derived from Kinkei gold mine records state Takeda Shingen opened."

    Shinshu Tateyama Mountain Stream Fishing Spot and Takabayashi Fish Farm are located about a 30-minute drive from the Suwa Interchange and the Suwa Minami Interchange. Drivers can easily spot it at the 29th streetlight if they travel on the Venus Line Scenic Highway northwest from Lake Tateshina. Visitors can enjoy fishing in a mountain stream that flows into Lake Tateshina. Since fishing gear is available for rent and bait is available for sale, visitors do not have to bring anything with them to fish for rainbow trout or char. There is even a special pond where visitors may fish for up to three char. They can have their freshly caught fish charcoal broiled to eat right away, and there is also a retail store on the grounds.

    Sobasho Tateshina Kogen Restaurant is located a 30-minute drive from the Suwa Interchange, or 40 minutes from Chino Station. Drivers can easily spot it if they travel on the Venus Line Scenic Highway northwest from Lake Tateshina. The trademark of this soba restaurant features the face of a Tengu (goblin). The noodles, which the restaurant makes in-house from unpolished Shinshu buckwheat, are characterized by a hearty flavor. Some of the featured dishes are Tororo Tenzaru with grated yam and seven kinds of tempura and Oroshi Soba, in which the noodles are topped with tempura. In addition, the restaurant serves a local Shinshu specialty, Oyaki (stuffed buckwheat dumplings). The restaurant is open until 3 p.m., but be aware that it may close earlier if it runs out of soba.

    To board the Lake Suwa Sightseeing Boat, visitors should walk eight minutes from Kami-Suwa Station or drive 15 minutes from the Suwa Interchange. Two boats sail the route: Suwan, which evokes the image of a swan, and Ryugumaru, which looks like a small turtle riding a larger turtle. Children are especially fond of Ryugumaru, and a further attraction is its upper observation deck. In addition to making several trips per day at designated times, the boats also available for groups of ten or more to reserve excursions outside the scheduled times. It takes about 30 minutes to make a complete trip around Lake Suwa. If the weather is good, passengers are able to see Mt. Fuji.

    This V-shaped park at the east end of Lake Suwa is punctuated with the Kamaguchi Water Gate. There is a jogging path along the lakeside, and the wide-open waterfront is perfect for a stroll. The fountain on Lake Suwa there is lit up at night and sends its spray 55 meters into the air. There is also a hot spring water stand near the Okaya City Gymnasium where people fill up their plastic tanks so they can drive back and have a soak at home.

    A four-person lift which travels to the top of Mt. Kurumayama, the highest peak of Mt. Kirigamine, which is itself included in the 100 Famous Japanese Mountains list. Reaching the peak 1,925 meters above sea level requires a 15 minute journey and transferring between two lifts which travel a total vertical distance of 350 meters. Unlike a ropeway or cable car, the lift just has a single safety bar keeping you in place, and thus riders can experience the area's spectacular scenery unobstructed while being caressed by highland winds. From the top of the mountain, visitors can take in the Yatsugatake Mountains, the Japan Alps, the Asama Mountain Range, and distant Mt. Fuji. Be aware that there are no toilets at the summit.

Diners can enjoy the rich, innate flavor of the buckwheat used in the restaurant's juwari soba noodles, made with exclusively with flour ground from unhulled buckwheat grown at the western foot of Yatsugatake Mountains. The restaurant also serves a la carte dishes like its famous soba inari salty-sweet stewed fried tofu stuffed with handmade soba noodles. For a limited time each year, the restaurant also offers kanzarashi soba, a rare variety of soba which is said to have even been presented to the shogun.
