- A restaurant located inside Chalet Christiania bed and breakfast on the northern end of the Shiga Highlands national park. Decorated like a mountain cabin in Tyrol, everything, from the wooden tables and chairs, to the lamps and furnishings engenders a warm and relaxing atmosphere. Here customers can enjoy an original take on European home style cooking made with fresh, local ingredients. One particularly recommended selection from the lunch menu is the special seafood doria, made with an abundance of shrimp and other seafood. In winter, skiers can come here straight from the slopes and enjoy a meal with their ski boots still on.

- Shunsai Kominka Yururi is an over 100-year-old residence that has been restored. There are seats on tatami with tables and chairs and counter seats with a sunken fireplace, giving the place an authentically quaint feel. The menu options use seasonal ingredients from Shinshu and all over and are pleasing to look at as well as eat. You’re guaranteed to be satisfied no matter your choice. It’s about 10 minutes from the Suzaka Nagano Higashi Interchange on the Joshin-Etsu Expressway, or about a 15-minute walk from Suzaka Station on the Nagano Electric Railway.
