    This museum commemorates Takai Kozan, a first-rate person of culture and pupil of Katsushika Hokusai who was Obuse Town's wealthiest merchant. The museum, which displays a large number of exhibits including works of calligraphy and art by Kozan, retains the vestiges of the era in which he lived. Yuzenro, the two-story wooden building that served as Takai Kozan's study and salon, is located on the grounds of the museum and open to visitors. It is located a short walk from the gallery, which features a large collection of works by Hokusai.

    This memorial hall is located in Agata no Mori Park in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture. It contains collections and exhibitions on the country’s high schools under the old education system, including Kyusei Matsumoto High School, the predecessor to present-day Shinshu University. The shop offers books written by Morio Kita, a graduate of Matsumoto High School, and other related goods. The park grounds also feature one of Matsumoto High School’s old school buildings built in the Taisho period, which is registered as an Important Cultural Property.

    For older travellers this is a good way to spend a bit of time on your vacation. Wouldn’t recommend it to the younger people visiting the area don’t think it would interest you. Gardens in the park...

    Opened in 1998, this museum displays materials related to Naoki Award-winning author Shotaro Ikenami and his prize-winning work “Sanada Taiheiki.” On the second floor, you find not only materials on Mr. Ikenami and his works, but also a detailed explanation of the characters and settings found in “Sanada Taiheiki.” There is also a corner where you can experience the world of “Kusanomono,” a theater, and a gallery; It is a facility that adults and kids can enjoy. The nearest station is Ueda Station.

Along with exhibitions of music boxes made in Japan and abroad, it also has a studio where you can try making a music box, as well as a concert hall where you can take in a live performance featuring a blend of images and the tunes of antique music box. There is an open terrace cafe and a boutique that sells music boxes too.

Known for titles such as “The Wind Has Risen,” many of his novels are set in Karuizawa. By the time he died in 1944, he had spent about nine years in Oiwake. The many manuscripts and letters offer a window into his literary style and life.

The museum preserves and displays materials relating to Kuniko Imai, an Araragi school woman poet who was active from the Meiji through the Showa periods; as well as ""Asuka,"" a female tanka poetry magazine she launched. The museum operates out of a remodeled Shimosuwa-shuku teahouse, Matsuya where Imai spent her childhood and later years and which was also used as the editing room for ""Asuka."" Surrounded by the restored structure, looking much as it did when originally used, visitors can come in contact with the turbulent times in which the poet lived through her manuscripts, diary, and poetry anthologies."

    長野市市街地から離れた信州新町の山の中にある、静かな山あいの町とは似つかわしくない赤い洋館です。かつては有島生馬の別荘だった建物で、移築されて、今は記念館になっていました。あまり知らなかった画家でしたが、展示されていた絵を見て、繊細なタッチの彼の作風にひかれました。記念館は有料です。

    A 20-minute drive from the Saku-minami Interchange. This memorial art museum is located next to Goryokaku Park right next to Tatsuoka Castle Ruins and displays the works of Gozo Kawamura, a sculptor who was born in 1884 in what is now Usuda, Saku City. Visitors can view Kawamura's works from a variety of periods in his career, including before and after he traveled to the United States and when he served as the top art advisor at Yokosuka Base. Sculptures such as his terracotta figure of his friend bacteriologist Hideyo Noguchi and a bust of GHQ Diplomatic Director George Atcheson, Jr. hint at the historical context in which the artist lived. Those who would like to receive a guided tour are encouraged to contact the museum in advance.

There are video materials and exhibition materials, and monuments engraved with the lyrics to ""Furusato"" and ""Momiji"" are on the premises."

    "Saku Municipal Tenrai Museum is located about a seven-minute walk from the Mochizuki bus stop. Built in the style of a traditional warehouse, Japan's first art museum devoted to calligraphy and a memorial to the Meiji Period calligrapher Hidai Tenrai is near the remains of the Mochizuki clan's troop lodgings and the Mochizuki History and Folklore Museum. Some of Tenrai's finest works are on display. He rediscovered old calligraphy manuals and is known as ""the father of modern calligraphy."" In addition to his works, visitors can also see related materials, such as the actual implements he used, and the calligraphic works of his wife and pupils."

    書道家の比田井天来の業績をたたえた記念館らしいけど、書道に興味がないので書道に造詣の深い義兄を案内がてら訪問しました。遠方から来られた方は記念碑のある公園と生家も尋ねられることをお勧めします。

    A museum complex situated on the shore of Lake Suwa. Inside, there are exhibition rooms dedicated to Lake Suwa and Akahiko Shimaki. The Lake Suwa exhibition room contains exhibits on the origins and ecosystem of Lake Suwa; skates, fishing gear, and other items connected with the lake and the lives of the people who live around it; and materials on the beautiful omi-watari cracks and fissures which form on the lake's ice in winter. The Akahiko Shimaki exhibition room displays calligraphy pieces and publications by Akahiko Shimaki, an Araragi school poet considered one of Suwa's greatest; the room also contains exhibits on the activities of the poet and the Araragi school. There are also telescopes in the museum which can be used to watch the birds of Lake Suwa, as well as a monument at the entrance to the museum's garden which memorializes the birthplace of geta skates - ice skates made using traditional Japanese geta sandals.

The museum displays items such as personal effects which belonged to Momosuke Fukuzawa, who assisted the development of electrical power resources on the Kiso River. The museum building is the now restored former holiday villa of Fukuzawa constructed in 1919; Fukuzawa lived here with his wife, the actress Sada Yacco, while the Oi River Power Station was being built.
