Nagano Pref. Naganoshi Togakushi

Togakushi Shrine contains a number of legends and myths. The Hinomikosha building onsite was built in 1098, and Amanouzume, who is said to have danced in front of the rock door, is the main deity worshipped here along with three others. She is revered as the deity of dance and performance, marriage, and fire protection, and many worshipers come to pay their respects. On the shrine grounds, there is a tree over 500 years old that is called the “Cedar of Bonds,” and it serves as a popular “power spot.” This shrine is about 30 minutes from the Shinanomachi Interchange on the Joshin-Etsu Expressway.

"This art museum located in Iida City, Nagano Prefecture exhibits works by the puppet artist Kihachiro Kawamoto. There are over 200 puppets on display that were donated by Mr. Kawamoto, mostly of which were used in the NHK puppet theater series ""Sangokushi"" (Annals of the Three Kingdoms) and ""Heike Monogatari"" (The Tale of Heike). Each of the exhibits are replaced after a set period of time."

A roadside station standing on Prefectural Route 15 in Nanakubo, Iijima Town, Kamiina County. The station has a flower shop selling flowers from the adjoining flower house; a farm-fresh shop selling deer and other seasonal game meats from Mt. Shinzan in the Akaishi Mountains (Southern Alps); a JA rice shop where you can have Iijima-grown Koshihikari rice polished on the spot; and a restaurant serving dishes made with horse meat and other local ingredients. The adjoining Apple Pie Labo sells handheld pies made with south Shinshu apples.

私が訪れたのは4月ですが、まだ雪がのこっていました。北側に小川があるのですが、その小川沿いが、小規模ながら桜並木となっています。中央アプルスを背景にした絶景を見ることができました。たまたま立ち寄った道の駅で良いものが見れました。

This is a natural garden located on a lava plateau around Tsuboniwa Station, the last stop of the Kita-Yatsugatake ropeway (2,237 m above sea level), about 7 minutes from Sanroku Station, and is designated as a special protected area of National Park No. 1. The park is also the gateway to climbing Kita-Yokodake (北横岳) and other mountains.

"This roadside station is on National Route 117 in Hokushin, Sakae Village, Shimominochi County. They sell vegetables and other produce, as well as sweet anbo dumplings, a local specialty. A shop called ""Matatabi"" sells things like handicrafts, and their eatery has handmade soba noodles, set meals, local cuisine, and more. There's also a soft serve ice cream stand called ""Sakae."""

大した観光スポットの無い栄村の道の駅です。新潟と長野の県境に位置していることもあり、両県のお土産が取り揃えられています。レストランもあり、意外と充実していました。

The “Kirigamine Nature Conservation Center” helps educate visitors about the precious natural landscape of the Kirigamine Highland. The exhibitions explain the flora and fauna, terrain, climate, and history in an easy-to-understand manner, and the staff periodically offer explanations as well. On weekends and holidays, they offer guided walks for up to 10 people to offer visitors a chance to see and feel the appeal of the landscape directly. It’s about 40 minutes from the Suwa Interchange on the Chuo Expressway, or via bus from the JR Kami-Suwa Station and then a five-minute walk from the Kirigamine Interchange.

「霧ヶ峰自然保護センター」前で少し休憩し、少し散策しました。「霧ヶ峰自然保護センター」自体は11月中旬までだったので、私が訪れた12月はもう閉まってましたけど、霧ヶ峰の動物、植物、地質、気象などの説明展示があるそうですよ。それにしても、この周辺は雰囲気が良いです。

This pond located in close proximity to Roppon-tsuji serves as the water source for gozen-sui. The quiet, beautiful pond is also called Swan Lake since swans used to migrate here in the past. A promenade has been built around the circumference of the pond upon which visitors can enjoy a slow stroll. Visits during the autumn season with its changing leaves are particularly recommended. The sight of the trees steeped in red and yellow reflected in the water is well worth seeing.

A park located in Tokiwa, Omachi City. Here you can enjoy the great outdoors. The park is divided into several zones, such as a central zone, conservation zone, forest recreation zone, mountain stream zone, and nature activity zone. The park also has a barbecue area with everything you need available on-site (reservation required) and a mountain biking park.

An orchard standing along Prefectural Route 29 in Kusama, Nakano City. From June to around November, visitors can enjoy picking cherries, peaches, grapes, and apples (when in season). The orchard also has a restaurant which can accommodate groups and which serves chestnut okowa rice, Shinshu beef sukiyaki meals, and other dishes. In the orchard's fast food area, meanwhile, you can eat curry and noodle dishes. The orchard's shop sells farm-fresh produce and an abundant variety of Shinshu souvenirs.

団体で利用し、2階で団体用のメニューで食事をしました。味は当たり障りのないものでしたが、野沢菜が絶妙な塩加減で、とても美味しかったです。

Nagano Suwa-gun Shimosuwamachi Higashimachinaka 606

A Buddhist temple located in Shimosuwa Town. This famous Rinzai Zen temple was founded over 700 years ago and, because Takeda Shingen helped restore it at a time when the temple was in decline, the caltrap family crest of the Takeda clan is used as the temple crest. The cedars lining the approach to the shrine have been allowed to grow quite large, unlike most temples, and are handsomely maintained. The temple's Japanese garden, which encompasses a rock garden and circular strolling garden around a central pond, achieved its current form in 1897. A sacred Katsura tree over 450 years old grows in the front garden. The main temple and main temple gate were built in the late Edo period and have been designated Cultural Properties by the town. This ropeway travels 2,330 meters between Kanose and Iimori Kogen Stations with a difference in height above sea level of 580 meters, taking 15 minutes each way. Located at around 2,000 meters above sea level in a mountainous area, the service may be suspended depending on circumstances due to changing weather conditions. In the Kozan Botanical Gardens at the summit, you will find lovely flowers including Potentilla fruticose var. mandshurica, Phyllodoce nipponica, clubmoss mountain heather and Rhododendrum dauricum. There is also an observatory restaurant from which you can look at the superb view while enjoying pasta or sweets created by the chef.

国道19号からはなかなか長い道のりで、ロープウェイの駅は山の中腹にあるので、結構登ります。ロープウェイはなかなかの料金ですが、個室で安心かつ気兼ねなく乗れるし、展望台は20度前後の涼しい気温。避暑にはぴったりです。みちすがらもロープウェイの駅にも飲食店はないので、お昼どきは開田高原かどこかで食べてから登りましょう。山上の駅には喫茶店があります。

The museum displays around 100 pieces of ""trick art"" such as images which appear to jump out at the viewer depending on the viewing angle, and works of art which make use of forced perspective. Visitors can also use some of the works on display to take amazing photos. Pets are allowed in the museum and can even be brought into the adjoining cafe."

入口が狭いのと入場が高いので、気にはなってたけど中々入れなかった美術館。いざ入ってみると三階建てで奥行きもあったのと、インスタ映えするので、けっこう長い時間写真撮ったりして、楽しめました。

Opened in 1998, this museum displays materials related to Naoki Award-winning author Shotaro Ikenami and his prize-winning work “Sanada Taiheiki.” On the second floor, you find not only materials on Mr. Ikenami and his works, but also a detailed explanation of the characters and settings found in “Sanada Taiheiki.” There is also a corner where you can experience the world of “Kusanomono,” a theater, and a gallery; It is a facility that adults and kids can enjoy. The nearest station is Ueda Station.

過去に真田太平記を読みましたが、今でも棚から真田太平記を手に取るほど大好きな長編小説です。ここでは、小説に沿って映像や資料などを展示しています。館内は撮影禁止で残念ですが、思い出に残る場所でした。

The Obuse Museum / Nakajima Chinami Kan opened in 1992, and they store and display collections by modern Japanese painter Chinami Nakajima in the “Nakajima Chinami Kan” building, as well as traditional “matsuri yatai (festival stalls),” Obuse cultural artifacts. The trees in the area display the beauty of the four seasons, and the “Hanasaku Burari Art Museum” certainly lives up to its name. It’s about 12 minutes on foot from Obuse Station on the Nagano Line and about five minutes from the Obuse Smart Interchange on the Joshin-Etsu Expressway.

It has 11,000 teddy bears from Japan and abroad on view, with enormous dioramas and special manufacturer collections. Their ""Teddy Bear Plaza"" shop is the largest of its kind in Japan. You can visit it without entering the museum."

宿泊していたホテルの向かい側にあるので、チェックアウト前に見学しました。館内は可愛いテディベアがいっぱい。ウエディングや世界の街角などのセットにいろいろなスタイルをしたテディベアがお出迎えしてくれます。多種多様なシーンを見て楽しめるのが最高です。お土産コーナーも充実。どのテディベアを選ぼうか迷うくらい。小さいお子様連れのファミリーにはオススメのスポットです。

りんごの名産地、長野県中野市にある道の駅です。夏から冬にかけてはその時に旬のリンゴが各種並ぶとのことです。訪れた時はサンつがる、ジョナゴールド、シナノドルチェと販売されていて、いずれも程よい酸味があり美味でした。他にシャインマスカットも手頃な値段で売られていてフルーツ好きにはお勧めできる道の駅でした。
