Using Tokachi-grown red beans and naturally-made agar, it is still kneading over lit oak wood, and is the gem of skilled pastry chefs. The fragrant miso goes perfectly with the rich vanilla of the ice cream, and this delicious treat has become an Omotesando specialty. The yaki-musubi (grilled rice balls) are also popular; people love the toasty flavor of miso, soy sauce and nori.

    Very nice Miso taste ice-cream. I have never seen this one anywhere else. You must try this, before you leave Nagano.

The thin-skinned dumplings are stuffed with delicious fillings and are chewy in texture; the most popular variety is the coleseed greens. The delicious treats are also sure to delight as souvenirs.     長野市から歩いて5分ほどのところにある和菓子屋さんです。真新しい店ですが、長野市では結構な老舗です。オススメはおやき。もちっとした皮の中に、あん、野沢菜、ナスなどの餡がたっぷりと入っています。これが絶品で安定のおいしさです。他にも団子系がオススメかな。

    Nakayama’s Jam is a long-established store specializing in jam located on the old Karuizawa Ginza Shopping Street in Karuizawa Town, Kitasaku County, Nagano Prefecture. The founders of this shop which was established in 1905 were taught how to make jam by a foreign missionary. Their most popular jam is the blueberry jam with the delicately refreshing taste of highland blueberries. The strawberry jam with lots of whole strawberries is also popular. In addition to these they have more than 30 types of jam made from typical Shinshu ingredients such as kyoho grapes, apricots, and rhubarb. They also sell non-additive jams and pickles.
