The classy cake shop sells all sorts of treats made with chestnuts such as Kuri Kanoko and Kuri Mushi packed with chestnut jam made only with whole chestnuts and sugar. The moist Kuri Kanoko cake is also popular. At the back of the shop is a restaurant where, as well as sweets such as raw chestnut cake, you can taste Japanese-style meals using local traditional vegetables and seasonal ingredients.

    The wooded estate of Goichi Wine was opened in Kikyogahara, 700 meters above sea level in 1911. The winery focuses mainly on producing merlot and chardonnay wines. Wine production is becoming increasingly popular not only in Japan but throughout the world too. Goichi Wine produces a botrytized chardonnay, quite uncommon in the world, made with the noble rot fungus naturally generated. Visitors to the winery are also welcome to wonder around the seven hectare vineyard. There is a shop at the winery so you can sample and buy some of their fine wines.

The company invented Tokonese, a type of koji malted rice made using hot spring heat, and the company's handmade, additive-free natural miso made with this koji has long boasted excellent taste, umami body, and aroma. The factory's signature Shiga Kogen Miso comes in three different varieties depending on the ratio of koji and has even been introduced on television as Japan's most delicious miso. The company offers factory tours which include a tasting session of its products, as well as an activity which allows participants to try mixing steamed soybeans, koji, fermentative bacteria, and salt water like the factory does when it makes miso (note that both require an advance reservation).

Carrying both Western and Japanese confections, many of the shops products are seasonal exclusives. Staple products include the melt-in-your-mouth Hanjuku Cheese and Hanjuku Chocolate cakes; and the Saku carp-themed Koiguruma, a pair of carp-shaped cakes clasping each other in a circle filled with coarse sweet bean paste and custard cream. Many of the shop's confections cunningly incorporate both Japanese and Western elements, such as the Shinano Oiwake buns filled with a cream crafted from butter, milk, and honey. The Kurumi Mochi walnut cakes and Imo Kintsuba sweet potato flour dough cakes, only available at this location, are particularly popular.

The shop focuses not on low price but rather making high quality senbei according to traditional methods. The shop only uses choice domestic rice and soy sauce. The shop also sells fresh-toasted senbei, a perfect snack to enjoy on the go. Particularly recommended are the close to 20 varieties of miso senbei, such as the Shinshu (Nagano) miso senbei. The shop can also make you senbei crackers with your name on them, though orders take more than a week to make.

The shop offers customers samples of its products so you can try before you buy. The shop's popular Japanese pond smelt is available in three varieties - shio (salt), shizenen (natural salt), and amakara (salty sweet); tasty as is, be sure to try them nanbanzuke and chazuke-style as well! Customers also love the simple flavor of the shop's Wakasagi Kobaini Japanse pond smelt from Lake Suwa stewed with Japanese plum extract.
