    A music hall located about 15 minutes by car from Nobeyama Station, the highest train station in Japan. It's on the grounds of the over 6.6 million square meter Yatsugatake Kogen Lodge, at an altitude of 1,500 meters. Nestled among the highland mountains, the beautiful hexagonal hall is made of larch, hemlock, and other wood, making it warm and inviting. Since opening in 1988, it's been visited by brilliant musicians from Japan and around the world. It has pleasant and refined acoustics unique to wooden halls. You'll get a deeper experience of the music there than you would in the city.

In addition to periodically holding concerts, the hall is also used as a venue for presentations and weddings. The hall also offers a music recording service.

It opened in 1998, the year of the Nagano Olympics, and consists of the “Olympics/Paralympics Memorial Hall,” “Nagano Prefecture Shiga Kogen Nature Conservation Center,” “Shiga Kogen General Information Facility,” and “98 Hall.” There’s also the “Sunshine Trail,” a walking path that takes you along the shoreline of Biwa Pond, a lake in Shiga Highlands and the second-biggest.

    信州で映画を見るならここがいいだろう。東京のような大きなシネコンはないから、スクリーンの規模、音響共に田舎にはハンデがあるけど、この劇場はその中ではお勧めだ。
