This three Michelin star art museum exhibits the kimono of textile artist Itchiku Kubota. Kubota established a unique dyeing technique called ''Itchiku Tsujigahana'' after having been fascinated by the Tsujigahana style of fabric dyeing that flourished in the Muromachi Period before suddenly dying out. The museum displays Takeda's ''Symphony of Light'' series, which features kimono with themes including the four seasons, the ocean, and the universe. It also displays kimono featuring motifs of the many faces shown by Mt. Fuji in different weather conditions.

The kimonos are beautiful, but I would only visit if you are in the area. The gardens in back are pretty. You can sit down for a bite to eat or get something to drink in their little cafe. The...

The ropeway takes three minutes to reach the top, 1,075 meters above sea level. From there, visitors can get a panoramic view of Lake Kawaguchi and Mt. Built by Fujiwara Noritada in the year 699, this shrine is the oldest on Mt. Fuji. While it was originally built at Mt. Fuji's second station, the shrine was rebuilt multiple times by the imperial family and influential warlords due to deterioration stemming from the severe surrounding natural environment and following its destruction in eruptions. It was finally relocated to its current location in 1974 in order to preserve it. The current main shrine building, a nationally-designated important cultural property, was built in 1612 by Tokugawa clan vassal Torii Naritsugu.

Very nice. From here pilgrims used to start their climb to Mt. Fuji It is peaceful and very beautiful.

This is a cave with an average temperature of three degrees in “Aokigahara Jukai” (sea of trees) forest, and it was used to store silkworm eggs until the early Showa period. It has also been designated as a Natural Monument of Japan. The total length of the tunnel is 201 meters. This is a horizontal cave where icicles, lava shelves and ropy lava can be seen. Visitors can see authentic sarumawashi (trained monkey shows) at this all-weather, wheelchair and baby carriage accessible theater. Suo sarumawashi, designated as an intangible folk cultural property in 2004, has even been incorporated as part of hands-on education at schools. The theater conducts three to five roughly 40-minute performances per day.

It is funny and you probably would need to experience it once in your life. Like a 1980 tv show with monkeys :) live. I felt it is being overpriced though. In a closed theatre and you could take...

Opened in 1991, the Kawaguchiko Museum of Art is an art museum at the base of Mt. Fuji housing mainly paintings, prints, and photographs depicting Mt. Fuji. It is famous for its Mt. Fuji Photo Award which began in 1999. Every year, there is a period when prize-winning pieces are displayed, drawing in many people.

The exhibition was alaways very well selected from artists. Give enough spaces for the art pieces. Especially on Mt. Fuji picturesfron many different direction can be seen in this museum.
