  • Mt. Iwadonosan Maruyama Park

    Yamanashi Otsuki-shi Nigiokamachi Kowaze 81-1
    This park is located in Kowaze, Nigiokamachi, Otsuki City at the foot of the 634-meter-tall Mt. Iwado. One of its facilities includes the Iwadonosan Fureai no Yakata, which exhibits materials related to the Mt. Iwadono. The park is also famous for its cherry blossoms. During the annual Otsuki Cherry Blossom Festival held each spring, the park's cherry blossom trees are illuminated at night and paper lanterns are placed along the climbing trails.
  • Shishidome Power Station

    This Tokyo Electric Power Company hydroelectric power plant is located about 15 minutes from Tsuru Interchange on the Chuo Expressway. Built on the slope of a mountain, the power plant started operation in 1913. It is famous for the more than 250 cherry blossom trees planted on both sides of its water pipes. Although the facility is not open to the public, the surrounding area is maintained for making visitors enjoy taking a stroll or viewing the flowers. The cherry blossoms can also be viewed from National Route 139, which runs nearby the facility. The blooming season is from early to mid-April. The fall foliage in the area around the power station's sluice gate, which is a national Registered Tangible Cultural Property, is also quite beautiful.
  • Skyvalley Campground

    This campground is about a 35-minute drive Tsuru Interchange from Gotemba Interchange or about a 50-minute drive from Sagamiko Interchange and Kawaguchiko Interchange. Located in a great natural setting, campers can enjoy listening to the sounds of the river, forest bathing, and other activities. The King's Lodge, which can accommodate up to 18 people, is exclusively for large groups. Campers are also offered free use of a whirlpool bath (the bath rotates between the genders on a fixed schedule). The campground's bungalows are equipped with flush toilets, making them well-suited for families with children. The campground is open from mid-April to November 30th each year. Reservations can be made by phone or in person.

    This campground is located just south of Doshigawa Keiryu Fishing Center about a 30-minute drive from Tsuru Interchange. It is conveniently located two hours from Tokyo, Kanagawa Prefecture and Shizuoka Prefecture. Campers can choose between a mountainside and riverside camping area. In addition to facilities such as a barbecuing area, a cooking area, and restrooms, the campground also features a playground with swings, slides, and other play equipment. The nearby Doshi River is well-known for the clarity of its water. Fireflies can also be seen from late June to early July. Campers can even enjoy hand fishing for rainbow trout and masu salmon.
  • Oniwa

    Located a one-minute walk from the Oniwa bus stop or a 50-minute drive from the Kawaguchiko Interchange. A picturesque location at the head of the mountain trail close to the bus stop at the 5th Station on the Fuji Subaru Line. Heading up the mountain is Oniwa, while heading down the mountain is Okuniwa. Near the staircase which connects to the walking trail is an entrance to one of Mt. Fuji's parasite volcanoes. Larch can be seen here and there on the bare volcanic gravel giving it the appearance of a spreading Japanese garden. At an altitude of 2400 meters it's also the tree line. From here you can see the summit of Mt. Fuji from up close and the sunset view is spectacular.

    Located a one-minute walk from the Oniwa bus stop or a 50-minute drive from the Kawaguchiko Interchange. A picturesque location at the head of the mountain trail close to the bus stop at the 5th Station on the Fuji Subaru Line. Heading up the mountain is Oniwa, while heading down the mountain is Okuniwa. It's also known as the Tengu Playground and you can still see the Torii gate and Tengu boulder. On either side of the pathway you can see Japanese larch and northern Japanese hemlock which have survived the wind and snow. From mid to late July is the best time to visit to see the Hakusan rhododendron. From the observation platform you can see Shichitaro Ridge as well as the Komitake volcano.

    This cafeteria is located inside of Roadside Station Narusawa about a 20-minute drive from Kawaguchiko Interchange or a 30-minute bus ride from Kawaguchiko Station. The most popular item is zendosoba, a regional dish featuring soba noodles served under a pile of finally cut locally-grown daikon radish. It also offers a number of dishes distinctive to Narusawa Village. These include Fujizakura soft-serve ice cream flavored with Fuji cherry syrup and narusawana mazegohan, a mixed rice dish featuring a local traditional green vegetable. Their Fujisan pancake sets, an item unique to the cafeteria, include a pair of pancakes depicting Mt. Fuji as well as jam and soft-serve ice cream.

  • Gekkoji Dori Street

    A street just a short walk east of Gekkoji Station. Paper lanterns hang from above along the Gekkoji Daimon Shopping Arcade and the appearance of the shops lining the street will take you back to the Showa-period (1926-1989). The area flourished in the textile industry during the early Showa-period to the 1960s and many shops are still open to this day. Part of the appeal is the sense of nostalgia you'll feel as you wander the variety of shops. The streetlights have an extreme retro design and some buildings have almost fallen into a state of disrepair. This well known spot has also been used for location shooting in movies.

    This shop is just a five-minute walk from either Shimoyoshida Station or Gekkoji Station or is a 10-minute drive from the Kawaguchiko Interchange. It's a furniture and general goods store located in the first floor of the Oboshi Furniture Building along National Route 139. The name of the shop comes from the French for Long Time and their concept is offering products that become more meaningful the more you use them. They offer a wide variety of goods from brands with workshops located within the city including shoes and cooking utensils. They also have a large selection of antique and semi-custom order furniture on display including goods from Japanese designers and those from overseas manufacturers.

    A trail for those intending to climb Mt. Fuji up the north face of the mountain. After taking either the Mt. Fuji Bus or an Express Bus to the Fuji-Subaru Line Fifth Station use the Yoshida-guchi trail head. This is a popular route used by nearly 60% of climbers and offers a comparatively easy-walking and less tiring path to the summit. From the sixth station onwards it is a full-fledged mountain trail and will be crowded with climbers hoping to see the sunrise from the summit. During certain seasons there is traffic regulation on the Fuji-Subaru Line Road so please confirm in advance before travelling by private vehicle.

The establishment offers a full menu of other drinks, as well, from beer to kombucha tea. The cafe also has a rental space available. Priority for palm reading sessions is given to those who make an advance reservation and sessions can be extended if so desired. The establishment also accepts orders for portraits of your dog. Customers only interested in the cafe, palm reading, or the gallery are all welcome.

Fuji created by various modern artists collected over a 40-year period. The museum holds special exhibitions featuring original drawings of popular French characters Lisa and Gaspard, as well as works depicting Mt. Fuji created by the likes of Shigeo Nagashima and Tsurutaro Kataoka. The museum also holds painting classes and daily crafting classes as needed, making this a fun destination for children and adults alike.

Here at the world's largest horror attraction you can experience terror with all five senses. Explore the containment ward of an abandoned hospital where patients were subjected to repeated brutal human experimentation. While traversing the 900-meter-long path to the exit you'll pass through all sorts of ghastly rooms including an operating room where the internal organs were just removed from a struggling patient and a neonatal room with a just born baby.

    This vaunted 247-meter-long, 42-meter-tall roller slide is located in Tabayama Village. The slide cannot be used by persons under 90 centimeters, but needless to say, due to its huge size, it is wildly popular with children. Visitors can enjoy a two minute and 30 second-long thrilling slide ride while taking in views of Taba Canyon directly below. The slide starts on the first floor of concrete Boken Tabayama Castle built on top of Mt. Komine; the second floor of the castle is a scenic lookout. Visitors can borrow a mat to sit on as well as work gloves - an item needed to grasp the sides of the slide and slow down.

    This 2,057 meter-tall mountain in Tanbayama Village, Kitatsuru County, Yamanashi Prefecture was designed as one of Japan's 100 best mountains. From the ridge, you can see mountains including Mt. Fuji, the Minami Alps, Mt. Norikura, and Mt. Yatsugatake. The long, gently sloping mountain ridge makes it a popular destination for beginning climbers. In the summer, you can enjoy views of the mountain's wild grasses and flowers, while in the autumn you can enjoy views of the fall foliage.

    During the hydrangea season, visitors at this park can enjoy viewing the many hydrangeas along its promenade. The roughly 200 meter-long promenade leads to Saru Bridge, known as one of Japan's three most famous unusual bridges. The park also features an area near the Katsura River that flows through the northern part of the park where visitors can enjoy barbequing and other activities. Part of the park is home to the municipally-operated Otsuki City Local Material Museum. The museum features exhibits on the history and natural environment of Otsuki City, including the 12 Views of Beautiful Fuji.
