    Yamanashi Pref. Minamitsurugunoshinomura Uchino
    This 1,150-meter-high pass is in Oshino Village, Minamitsuru County, Yamanashi Prefecture. The elevated deck offers a view of Mt. Fuji. It's also a popular place for fall foliage, with visitors enjoying the contrast of the leaves against Mt. Fuji. It's not only popular for walking, the well maintained forest roads are great for driving.

    This mountain pass up Mt. Daibosatsurei, counted among one of Japan's 100 best mountains, is located at an altitude of around 1,900 meters. Said to be the toughest part of the old Ome Kaido Road, the pass became a household name as the setting of a Kaizan Nakazato's novel. The ridge of Mt. Daibosatsurei offers views of Mt. Fuji, the Southern Alps, and the Yatsugatake Mountains. It also features a rich variety of alpine plans, making it a popular place for hiking.

    This mountain pass located at an altitude of 1,472 meters is popular for its amazing views. The pass, the highest on National Route 144, is a great place from which to take pictures of the beautiful Mt. Fuji or the Mountains of Okutama. The nearby Yanagisawa Pass Tea House is famous for serving tea made with the area's great water and its views of Mt. Fuji.

    A pass on the border between Kawakami Village, Minamisaku County, Nagano Prefecture and Yamanashi City, Yamanashi Prefecture. 2,365 meters above sea level, the pass is the highest hill climbing course in Japan which allows vehicle traffic. The pass is closed to all traffic in winter from December to May.

    This mountain pass is located in Fujikawaguchiko Town, Minamitsuru County, Yamanashi Prefecture. The pass, which straddles between Fujikawaguchiko and neighboring Fuefuki City, is said to be the pass that the Japanese mythological hero, Yamato Takeru-no-Mikoto crossed over on his expedition to the eastern provinces. Just south of the southern exit of Misaka Tunnel on National Route 137 is Fujimi Bridge. There, can stop there and enjoy the view of Mt. Fuji from the observation deck that runs parallel to the bridge.

    This mountain pass is located at the southern tip of the three peaks of Ho-o Sanzan, the vanguard of the Southern Japan Alps. It is highly recommended for its beauty, especially in May due to the fresh green leaves and from mid to late October due to the fall foliage. The route is also easily understood and can be climbed in an hour, making it a popular destination for mountain climbing with the whole family. Its great location gives the pass a head-on view of the three peaks of Shirane sanzan.
