    Yamanashi Minami-Alps-shi Nishinango 4302
"This farmer's residence built in 1709 is located about a 30-minute walk from the Furuichiba Bus Stop or the Ichigenjaya Bus Stop. The Ando family is an old family that served as the chiefs of Nishinago Village for generations. The home is an incredibly valuable building that offers insights into the life of wealthy farmers in the late Edo Period. The main building, which features a thatched Irimoya-style roof, has been preserved just as it was centuries ago. It as well as the front gate, earthen storehouse, tearoom, central gate, and wooden fence have all been designated as national Important Cultural Properties. Yokosawa-bina, a style of hina doll unique to Yamanashi, are displayed with other hina doll collection at the residence during the ""Ando-ke Jutaku Hinamatsuri (Doll Festival)"" held there each spring."

I visited the Ando Residence in May 2017. It is now owned by Yamanashi Prefecture and open to the public. Seasonal events are held here and we went to see the May boys day celebration props from the...

At present, the main building, library, and Nio Gate are designated as Important Cultural Properties.

"Onmyoji Temple, a temple of the Nichiren sect of Buddhism, is located in the city of Fuefuki, Yamanashi Prefecture, just a short walk from Isawa Onsen Station on the JR Chuo Line. It is known as the site of Ukai (The Cormorant Keeper), a Noh play that was revised by the famous 15th century playwright Zeami, and the story of the cormorant keeper is still a part of the temple's heritage. According to the legend, a man used cormorants for fishing in the Isawa River, where it was forbidden to take any lives, was put to death, and became a ""hungry ghost."" In 1274, Nichiren visited the temple and performed a memorial service and exorcism for the cormorant fisherman so that he could achieve Buddhahood. A powerful statue of the guardian deity Nio is placed at the Niomon Gate, and within the temple grounds, visitors can see the Ukaido (Cormorant Keeper's Hall) and the Kuyoto (Memorial Tower)."

"A five-minute walk from Isawa-Onsen Station on the JR Chuo Main Line. Records state this ancient Shingon Chisan Buddhist temple was founded in 722 by the great priest Gyoki and is counted as one of the seven Shingon danrin educational temples of Kai. The temple's name, which means translates to ""Tripitaka"" (the Buddhist canon), is derived from a two tier Buddhist tower built by the samurai Kai Province governor Takeda Nobunari in 1370 in which was placed a copy of the Tripitaka as an offering. A Takeda clan family temple, the temple still possesses a Shogun Jizo statue the mighty Takeda Shingen donated to pray for success in the Battles of Kawanakajima. The temple is also deeply connected to the great Tokugawa clan and possesses treasures such as a three faced Mahakala statue which was personally used by Tokugawa Ieyasu himself. A colored silk work of art depicting the death of the Buddha, designated a National Important Cultural Property, is another of the temple's many cultural assets."
