"This malt whiskey distillery, also known as the ""Forest Distillery"", is located in the foothills of the Southern Alps approximately 20 minutes by car from Kobuchizawa Interchange on the Chuo Expressway. On the grounds is the ""Whiskey Museum"" where visitors can learn about the history of the birth of the single malt whiskey ""Hakushu"", and the worldwide culture of whiskey. There is also a shop that offers goods limited to the distillery, as well as restaurants and bars featuring seasonal dishes made from local produce. There is no charge for admission but reservations (at least one day in advance) are required. A factory tour (including tasting) is also available (fees apply)."

I love whisky distilleries and this one did not disappoint (except for one thing, to be mentioned below). The location was breathtaking, in the Japanese Southern Alps, and the tour was fantastic...

Kikyo Shingen Mochi has been awarded many prizes including the honorary president award, at the National Confectionery Exposition. The factory is surrounded by lush vegetation with a site area of 11,000 square meters and a total floor area of 5,000 square meters. On the factory tour you can see how 100,000 pieces of Kikyo Shingen Mochi a day are packed meticulously by hand. You can also have a go at packing some of the mochi and enjoy sampling some of the delicious sweets. Admission is free and advance reservations are not required if going alone. Factory tour times are fixed so be sure to check in advance.

This winery is located in the Fujii area of Katsunuma-cho, Koshu City. In a shop with over 120 years of history, founded in the Meiji period, they make wine from grapes grown in the company's own farm. You can visit the museum containing historical resources, the storehouses and where the grapes are pressed for free, and twice a day (once in the morning and once in the afternoon) you can enter the rooms themselves. お盆で販売店のみ営業。試飲の後で、炎天下の中うちわを貸してくれ、畑を案内して頂きました。なんでも少し前までフランスで修行してたとのこと。彼からブドウの説明を受けたら、もっと応援したくなっちゃいました。ワインは種類によってみんな違う味わいでした。コロナでお客さんは半分くらいだそうですが、負けずに美味しいワインを作っていって欲しいです。

ぶどうツアーで立ち寄りました。ガラス製品メインのお土産屋さんです。食品などのお土産も多少おいてありました。また隣にぶどう販売店もあります。ワイングラス館という名前ですがワイングラス自体はそんなに種類置いておらず、普通のグラスが大半でしたので、がっつりワイングラスを選びたい方には不向きです。個人としてはいろいろと見て回れて楽しかったです。

This winery is located in Sakaori, which is said to have been the center of ancient Koshu, a place associated with the legend of Yamato Takeru, the 12th emperor of Japan. The winery offers three different winery tours. The two-hour course, which requires a reservation at least one week in advance, allows visitors to taste five of the winery's recommended wines. The guided tour course is led by a licensed a Japanese Wine Expert. Visitors may also choose a self-guided tour course. 初めて錦城ワインを買いました。生ワインの一升瓶は、赤ワインと白ワインのブレンドとの事、ラベルにはロゼワインとは載ってなく、色は赤ワインに近いです。火入れしてないので生ワインとの事です(一升瓶ワインの写真もアップしました。)。辛口で美味しいワインです。

This sake brewery is in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture. This historic sake brewery was founded in 1750, and uses underground water from Mt. Komagatake to finish the sake characterized by its clean, crisp taste. You can tour a number of historic buildings here, including the brewery, and the main building, called the Anzaisho, which was used as accommodations by the Meiji Emperor. The brewery also runs a restaurant focusing on local production for local consumption where can enjoy the sake with a meal.

甲州街道の旧道を歩いている時に見つけて立ち寄りました。新酒を買ったついでに、有料テイスティングで甕仕込みの白ワインを飲みましたか美味しかった。因みに500円でした。
