    This facility in Tsuru City, Yamanashi Prefecture is a place where people can learn first-hand how superconducting magnetic levitation (SCMaglev) railways work. Visitors can also watch tests on the Yamanashi maglev test line or check out models and exhibits that introduce SCMaglev technology and the Chuo Shinkansen. The adjacent Waku-waku Yamanashi-kan features an area with tourist information on Yamanashi Prefecture on its second floor, while its first flour features a shop that offers local products.

    Even if you only have a passing interest in trains (or even none at all!) this is well worth calling into if youre on your way to Fuji. The staff were all very helpful - enthusiastic even to help...

Yamanashi makes roughly one-fourth of the jewelry manufactured in Japan, so the exhibits here, showing the process from raw mineral to jewel, is certainly worth a look.

Fuji Museum has displays divided into five areas with different themes, so you can thoroughly enjoy the charms of Mt. Fuji. At the cafe only open in summer, you can eat the Mt. Fuji sundae (with lava)-an original of the Mt. Fuji Museum.

    This is the place we will get information, whether historical or geographical pertaining to the Mount Fuji of Japan. A must visit place prior your climb of the mountain.

    In 2006 the village of thatched roofed buildings which formerly existed on the shores of the Lake Saiko, the Nemba area, were reconstructed as “Iyashi no Sato”. The buildings which number approximately 20 have been turned into restaurants where you can taste different types of local cuisine, areas for handmade interactive workshops and shops selling local products. Also because Mt. Fuji can be clearly seen, many people take pictures together with the thatched roofed buildings.

    This museum's collection contains 5,599 nationally-designated Important Cultural Properties including earthen figures, unglazed earthenware, and stone tools. The museum features permanent exhibits on the Shakado ruins, which were discovered in the center of an alluvial fan in the eastern part of the Kofu Basin. The second floor observation lobby offers views of Kofu Basin and some of Japan's best mountains. In April, you can enjoy seeing this beautiful scenery tinted pink by the surrounding peach orchards.

    縄文時代から古墳時代に特化した博物館です。アプリをダウンロードして隣接した古墳を散策すると楽しいです。 展示品も充実しており、掲示されている解説も比較的丁寧です。 実物の出土品がたくさん見られるので、考古学が好きな方にはお勧めです。 最大の難点は、公共交通機関でのアクセスが悪いことかな。

    Christmas Forest Santa Claus Museum is 15 minutes by car from the Yamanakako Interchange and 30 minutes from the Gotemba Interchange. This museum, which is devoted to Christmas, as its name implies, is also quite near Asahigaoka Lakeside Greenspace Park. All sorts of Santa Claus-themed objects are on display, including oddities such as Santa in summer clothes or a Christmas tree with Santa's face hung on it. The museum shop sells Christmas trees, wreaths, and similar souvenirs.

    廃墟化?下清里駅前から、気分転換に、オルゴール博物館に初めて入館す。河口湖にもあるが、今回、入場料千円と高いが、説明員の説明、古い大仕掛けのオルゴールの生演奏、我々二人で、30分余、まったりとした至福の時間を過ごさせてもらい感謝す。帰りに、女房殿に、カメオの宝石いれオルゴール箱を、気分がいいのでプレゼントする大盤振る舞いです。久しぶりに、生の音楽を聴いて、女房殿も満足のようでした。

It exhibits related materials and life-size wax figures concerning the history of grape cultivation and wine making in Katsunuma. In addition, it holds special exhibitions on grapes and wine. The Koshu City Katsunuma library is next to it.

    勝沼で一番重要なスポットです。蝋人形も迫力あり。ここでぶどう栽培の起源を知り、天皇から賜ったという帽子の絵も見られます。ここで色々見ておかないと、後でワイナリー巡っても石像の意味が理解できず勿体ないですね。観光でまず一番最初に訪れたい場所です。しかも無料(笑)

    This museum dedicated to the subject of mountain culture and nature is located about a 30-minute drive from Shirane Interchange on the Chubu-Odan Expressway. Its missions since opening in 2003 have been discovering, researching, and passing down mountain culture, promoting natural conservation and mountaineering safety, and realizing a variety of exchanges mediated by the mountains. The museum features an area where visitors can watch real time footage of Mt. Kita, an area with a collection of books on the subject of mountains, an area where visitors can sit around a sunken hearth and listen to a storyteller, and more. There is also an area that introduces the local Yamanashi wood used to build the museum.

    芦安温泉郷内の宿に宿泊したら、無料券をいただいたので、翌朝行ってみました。施設はとてもきれいで広い。南アルプスについてのビデオ上映もやっていたり、山で命を落とした方の特集をしていたり。登山に必要な道具が昔-現代にかけて展示してあり、登山の知識や歴史がよくわかり、南アルプスの地形の大きな模型があるので、登山道など立体的でわかり易い。地図やパンフレットも無料でもらえる。
