    A soba noodle shop that focusses carefully on their ingredients. They serve a 100% buckwheat soba made with local native grown Fukui gensoba buckwheat that is stone ground and only mixed with water. The tempura is not pre-made and is fresh-fried after you place an order. They offer a variety of local sake and shochu liquors to pair with the soba. They offer several private rooms which are used for important family ceremonies including memorial services. In addition to their soba noodle course meals they also offer affordable lunch options and service a la carte.

    Located near the Galleria Motomachi shopping arcade in Fukui City, Yuubuan is a well-known restaurant where diners can enjoy Fukui Prefecture’s famous Oroshi Soba noodles. Yuubuan offers a range of simple yet delicious dishes, featuring Soba noodles made with 100-percent buckwheat flour (with no added wheat flour) that are prepared with great attention to noodle size and to boiling them properly, served in a broth that contains a generous helping of grated Daikon radish. The restaurant particularly recommends the “Oroshi Soba Three-fold Indulgence” meal, which allows diners to enjoy two plates of Soba noodles each with three types of broth: Oroshi (grated Daikon radish), Wasabi, and Tororo (grated yam). Yuubuan’s sister restaurant Amida Soba Fukui-no-i is located in the Happiring mall at the West Exit of Fukui Station.

    A long-established soba shop located in Asuwa, Fukui City, Fukui Prefecture. They offer many menu items, such as “oroshi soba” which uses prefecture-grown soba for its flat noodles with spicy daikon on top, or the “inari oroshi soba” or the “takikomi set” which combines soba with flavored rice. From the calming interior, you can look out over a Japanese garden with all its lush green nature, while you partake of some quality Echizen soba.

    孫がいる福井を訪問した際に一家で当店に伺いました。ワイフと私はそれぞれ海老天、あなご天おろしそばを。他の福井移住民は天ざる、ざるそば等をオーダーしました。海老天、穴子天というからそれが大きめに1尾或いは2尾付いてくるのかと思いきや、海老天、穴子天をメインに天ざるの天ぷらと同様に、ただざるそばかおろしそばの違いだけのようでした。 そばも天ぷらもそこそこ美味しく、福井はそばが美味しいですね。

    A long-standing Echizen Soba noodle shop that has been open for 80 years. They use stone-ground buckwheat flour made from local Fukui prefecture buckwheat. They're also very particular about their broth and make it using a secret method from shavings of top-quality dried bonito. Their main menu item is Echizen Soba with cold soba topped with spicy daikon radish, bonito flakes, and green onion and served with broth pouring over soba noodles. You can order additional toppings including wild plants, tempura, and mochi. They also offer a hearty set-meal menu and a la carte options.

    こちらは、福井銀行のすぐ隣りにあります。 はっと見、小さいお店せのようですが、奥行きが広く2階席もあり、2階席は、ゆったり広くモダンな雰囲気です。 おろし蕎麦をオーダーしました。 ほどなくして出てきました。 盛り付けは綺麗で美味しそうです。 蕎麦は普通の色・きしめんの様な太さで、コシがあり、のど越しも良くつゆは大根の甘みがあり美味しです。

    30度を超える猛暑の中、中にも入れず待つ事15分。何の案内もないまま。年寄りがいるのでこれ以上外では待てず、諦めた。一言くらい声かけすればいいのに、客に対して何の配慮も出来ない最悪の店。しかも、この間1組も店から出てくる客がいないという事は、かなりの回転率の悪さ… せっかく行ったのに汗だく。もう二度と行かない。

    宿泊先の「ホテルフジタ福井」から夕食の場を求めて探しに出て見つけたお蕎麦屋さんです。おじさんには利用しやすそうな外観であったため即入店、店内もとても居心地の良い造りでした。蕎麦屋なのに、日本酒のグラスは枡に入った姿で登場、天ぷら盛合せには立派な海老が入っていて美味しいのに630円と、質・値段とも満足。〆に辛味大根おろしそばをいただき気持ち良くお会計。次回の福井でも利用したいお店でした。
