    Fukui Pref. Sakaishi Maruokachoukamitakeda 37-26-1
    Located along National Route 364 in Kamitakeda, Maruokacho Town, Sakai City, this well-established tofu shop was founded in 1925. The signature abura-age (deep-fried bean curd) uses underground water from Mt. Hakusan and choice domestic soy beans for its tofu which is crisply and aromatically fried up with rapeseed oil. At the restaurant you can try dishes that use abura-age like “takeda no abura-age gozen” and at the retail shop, you can purchase freshly fried tofu, as well as sweets using tofu or soy milk.

    旅館で出されたこちらの油揚げが美味だったので、訪問しました。レストランは１０：３０開店だと聞き、11時に伺ったのですが、すでに大混雑。いろいろなメディアで採り上げられている、有名店だと知りませんでした。あきらめて併設のショップで油揚げ、豆腐、おからを購入しました。そちらはすぐ買えました。山の中の一軒家で、看板が目立つので、場所はわかりやすいと思います。

    Located near the famous Tojinbo Cliffs in Mikuni-cho in the city of Sakai, Fukui Prefecture, Yamani Seafood is a purveyor to the Imperial Household Agency. A venerable business founded during the Meiji period (1868–1912), it sells fresh seafood caught in Mikuni Harbor and processed seafood. It boasts a wide range of seafood, including Echizen crabs, deep water shrimp, and flounder. In the onsite restaurant, customers can enjoy generous servings of seafood over rice, sashimi made from fish caught that day, or fish roasted on the beach. Customers can choose one of the famous Echizen crabs from the live storage tank and have it prepared any way they want.

    Run by a long-running fish wholesaler and purveyor to the Imperial Household Agency, this restaurant lets you taste the fresh bounty of the ocean taken from the nearby Mikuni Port. It is a famous shop featured in magazines and various media. The most popular item is “kaisen don” —a bountiful dish with sea urchin, salmon roe, and Mikuni seafood like squid and sweet shrimp piled high on rice. During crab season from November to March, you can enjoy a dish using luxurious Echizen crab that was even served to the Imperial Household. The building is a Japanese-style with Kara-mon gate (Chinese gate). Inside the shop there is a counter seat which is easy to enter alone. The nearest station is Mikuni-Minato Station.

    お盆休み中の12時前に訪れたましたが、既に行列が出来ており約30分待ちでした (コロナの影響でテーブル一つおきに着席)。 大半の方が注文するからか、海鮮丼はオーダーしてから割と早く提供いただけました。 海鮮がてんこ盛りで、特に甘海老が甘くて美味しかったです。付属の味噌汁も海老の出汁が非常に濃厚で美味しかったです。待つ価値はあったと思います。

    Echizen Kaninobo, located near Mikuni Port where there is a concentration of seafood from the Hokuriku Region, is a souvenir shop as well as a restaurant directly managed by Bouyourou, a well-established ryori ryokan (an inn focusing on food). At the souvenir shop, they sell seafood such as Echizen crab, which is also known as an item presented to the Imperial Household, dried seafood using fresh fish, and processed products. The second floor is a restaurant which offers a range of menu items from simple rice bowls and set meals to a full course meal with crab. The Kaisen chirashidon (a rice bowl scattered with seafood) and the Original Gasaebi Katsudon (a rice bowl topped with gasa shrimp cutlets), serving plenty of delicacies from the Japan Sea, are popular. The nearest station is Mikuniminato Station.

    三国港駅の直ぐ横にある大きな蟹の看板が掲げられた蟹と海鮮の店。店内一階の大きな水槽には蟹が… 客室がある2階は個室風の掘り炬燵テーブル席が並ぶ。今回はランチで訪問、旬の海鮮ちらし丼を注文。スズキ等の福井県産の魚と甘エビ、岩海苔のお吸い物と冷奴、大変美味しゅうございました。

    This seafood restaurant with great ocean views is located near Tojinbo, a series of cliffs that are part of the Echizen-Kaga Kaigan Quasi-National Park. The restaurant also sells marine product souvenirs. Each of their many full-course meals are generously-portioned and reasonably-priced. Please note that some courses require a reservation.

    東尋坊を観光した後に、観光船のチケット売り場のちょっとした広場から階段を登って、続いている商店街を進んで行くと左側にある。定食と土産屋さん。

Their famous Matsu-no-Tsuyu treat, which has been served to the royal family, is made with egg whites, sugar, and ground coffee and resembles the Shoro species of mushroom. Their Kougetsudo custard pudding, made with local egg yolks, is also popular.

The first floor sells tofu and during the summer soy milk soft-serve icecream. On the second floor they have a restaurant serving tofu cuisine with seasonal organically grown vegetables.

From the shop, filled with antique furniture, you can see the 300-year-old Tabunoki laurel tree from which the shop derives its name.

    旧森田銀行の向かいの建物の2階です。落ち着いた雰囲気で、地元の作家のアート作品などが並び、ちょっとしたギャラリーのようです。カップも作家さんの手作りの、暖かみのあるものでした。コーヒーも丁寧に入れられて、とても美味しかったです。

They're famous for their Sake-Manjuu treat whose recipe came from a boatman on the Kitamaebune shipping route which crossed the Sea of Japan during the Edo and early Meiji periods. The Sake-Manjuu is still made with the same classic techniques and delivers a harmonious blend of bean paste and the taste of sake. Also popular is their Nama-Dorayaki which comes in a variety of flavors including green tea and cream cheese.

    A Japanese confectioner in Kitahonmachi 4-Chome, Mikun-cho, Sakai City. Their specialty Uguisu-mochi has over 200 years of history and is made with local mochi-rice, red beans, and soybeans as well as a special sugar that was first brought to the Mikuni Minatomachi port area via trading ships. They also sell a variety of other sweets including castella cake and sweets made with homemade red-bean paste.

    蒸し羊羹がとても美味しいです。 お店の方には鴬餅を勧められたので、鴬餅を購入。 小さめなのでペロリです。 お上品な味でした。

    久しぶりに、飲んだ後に行きました。昔は、中華系の飲茶がありましたが、なくなっていました。飲んだ後に食べるのが好きだったのに。アイスコーヒーのみで退散。
