    A Soto Zen Buddhist temple founded in 1892 located in a corner of the Wakura Onsen hot spring district. The Hinden hall, a portion of a temple hall including a space used to accommodate the then-crown prince and later Emperor Taisho which was later moved here, was registered as a National Tangible Cultural Property in 2017. Made entirely of hinoki cypress, the delicate workmanship of the coffered ceiling in the imperial abode is particularly stunning. The wooded approach to the shrine extending from the back of the grounds has been designated Nagominooka Park, and many beautiful trees and plants such as deep red Noto hiryu azaleas grow on the site. The temple also offers zazen meditation and sutra copying sessions (advance reservation required).

    寺単体がというよりは、寺が集まる道を散策するのが心地よい。秋の紅葉時期は紅葉に銀杏etc.格別である。イベントもしくは予約でもしない限り、人通もなく静か。

    最初見たときこんな大きな本堂が思って見てしまいま。場所は前田利家公ゆかりの小丸山城址に在ります。浄土真宗本願寺派の寺院です。

    ここは前身を「安楽寺」と云う巨大寺院です。僧房３００を数えると云うのはこの地域では類を見ない規模です。石動山天平寺の別院。ここも謙信の蛮行により七堂伽藍と３３の僧房を焼失させられた歴史があります。北陸霊場の中では規模だけでなく、その属する文化財の多さにも驚いた寺院です。山門は特に立派。
