This is a temple of the Koyasan Shingon sect located in Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture. It is said that it was established by Taicho in 717. The ground of the temple is large and the nature is beautiful like a landscape painting. The temple is known as the enchanted land with unusual rocks and the main shrine is connected to a huge, rocky cave. It is the sacred place of “Iwa-ya Tainai Kuguri” where sins are purified and people are reborn. There are many buildings including the main shrine and the three-storied pagoda which are certified as important cultural assets of the country. It is also known as a famous sightseeing spot of leaves changing color in autumn. There are no railings on the roads or stairs in the premises, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended when visiting the site.

We came here on a beautiful afternoon and was not disappointed with the temple and its surroundings. The map tht comes along with the admission fee is very useful to cover the full ground from...

Located in the Tokusan Town of Nomi City, Ishikawa Zoo occupies a 23-hectare site which makes effective use of the natural topography to enable the animals to live in an environment that resembles their natural environment as closely as possible. There is also a Japanese Crested Ibis Breeding Center within the Zoo, which is implementing a breeding program for this bird species. The Center itself is not open to the public, but visitors can view a live video food of the Ibises in the Animal Learning Center. Ishikawa Zoo also holds a variety of special events, including the Spring and Autumn Fureai Matsuri (friendship festivals) and Night Zoo activities on summer evenings, etc.

"A Shinto shrine more than 1,200 years old located close to Ataka Beach. Based on the legend of the samurai Minamoto no Yoshitsune and the warrior monk Benkei as retold in media such as the famous kabuki play ""Kanjincho"", this shrine is the only one in the country dedicated specifically to overcoming adversity and many worshippers offer ema votive tablets to the shrine in the hope they will overcome their own difficulties. Some of the shrine ground's highlights include a pine forest selected as one of the most beautiful stretches of pine dotted sandy beach in the country, and a monument inscribed with a poem by Akiko Yosano. The shrine can be chartered to conduct a Shinto style wedding ceremony in front of the main shrine with traditional gagaku and kagura music. The shrine, its ema votive tablets decorated with kitamaebune ships, the Kishu Festival, and the Ataka Festival were registered as part of the Kitamaebune Port of Call Japan Heritage entry in 2018."
