    Ishikawa Kanazawa-shi Hashibacho 2-17
Ohi ware is a type of pottery. Records state the origins of this pottery date back to when Maeda Tsunanori, the fifth lord of Kaga Domain, invited tea ceremony master Senso Soshitsu to Kaga to popularize the tea ceremony in the area; during his stay, Senso used clay from the outlying village of Ohi (now the neighborhood of Ohi-machi) to create tea cups. Ohi ware is shaped entirely by hand without the use of a potter’s wheel and is covered with a traditional ameyu glaze. The art museum standing on the studio’s grounds, open year-round, displays examples of Ohi ware made by the first Chozaemon head potter to the current head, as well as tea ceremony implements strongly connected to the old Kaga Domain. The studio’s Edo period samurai residence is a Kanazawa Designated Preservation Structure.

"A shop which makes and sells items decorated with gold and silver leaf located a seven minute drive from JR Kanazawa Station. The shop's name is derived from an actual agency which once governed the use of gold and silver foil. The shop is notable for its adaptability-in addition to maintaining the traditional techniques of ""enzuke"" gold leafing, the shop also makes use of modern gold leafing techniques as is deemed appropriate to the situation. The main shop location allows visitors to observe artisans working with gold leaf and is the only place where you can see a tearoom decorated with some 40 thousand sheets of highest quality ""enzuke"" gold leaf, a traditional technique highly prized in the restoration of National Treasures. In addition, the shop sells a wide selection of original products only a specialty shop like this can carry such as Hakuji gold leaf ceramics."

This is a long-established store continuing since 1870, located at the “Kutani-yaki” pottery, a craft representative of Ishikawa Prefecture. All the work is completed by hand from molding the clay to the first kiln, second firing and decorating with glaze, and the techniques of old Kokutani and revived Kutani continued to be protected even today. In addition to being able to see the manufacturing process in the workshop, visitors are able to experience painting a design to make their very own original piece. There is an exhibition room with a variety of kiln artwork, and pieces from traditional style to those of everyday use are for sale. The nearest station is Nomachi Station.

Noting to see or do there. Only a few expensive poteries. We were not invited to visit. There was only one employee in the store

Located within the Ishikawa Prefectural History Museum grounds in the Dewa Town, Kanazawa City, the Kaga-Honda Museum has around 2,000 precious historical artifacts in its collections, including weapons and armor, old documents, relating to the Honda family, one of the “Hakka” (“eight clans”) families of leading retainers that served the Maeda family (who ruled the Kaga Domain) for generations. Each year, the temple exhibits paper hina dolls handmade by Tamahime, holds a festival which celebrates Tamahime and prays for the success of parishioners in this life, and holds a memorial service for Tamahime. A history museum dedicated to the Maeda Tosanokami family, a clan started by the samurai Maeda Toshimasa, son of Maeda Toshiie, the first lord of Kaga Domain. The family, of honorable origin and closely affiliated with the domain-ruling Maeda clan, is counted as one of the eight primary families which underpinned and supported the domain. Over the generations, members of the Maeda Tosanokami clan were awarded many important positions, and the family accumulated some 9,000 articles of tremendous historical value, a portion of which are on display in this museum. The museum's impressive exhibits include suits of armor and swords as well as texts detailing the history of famous military commanders from Japan's Warring States period.

A traditional crafts shop located inside the Kanazawa Noh Museum in Hirosaka, Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture. Stocking 20 or more varieties of popular traditional crafts from Kanazawa, a former castle town and cultural leader of the Kaga area, here you’ll find handcrafted postcards created with Kaga yuzen techniques, saikumono handiwork, and more. The shop also carries rarer traditional crafts like Kaga zogan inlay work, Kaga mizuhiki zaiku cordwork, and Kaga kebari lures. At this popular destination, you’ll be able to buy unique Kaga souvenirs which combine the skills of artisans with the chic tastes of a Japanese castle town.

Fascinating crafts and artwork. Handcrafted, unique gifts. Simply fun to explore the shop. Who might have thought that fishing lures were art? Prices are fair for the caliber of the work.

This long-standing gold leaf specialty shop was established in 1898. Facing Saigawa-odori Avenue and located close to the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa and the Kenrokuen garden, the shop sells gold leaf materials and gold leaf crafts and also holds a variety of workshops. The shop’s most popular workshop is its gold leafing activity, which lets you handle real gold leaf just one 10,000th of a millimeter thick. Under the tentative guidance of an instructor, you can make your own gold leaf hand mirror, small bon tray, postcard, or badge, the perfect opportunity to make a memory of your trip to Kanazawa that will last a lifetime. The gold leaf ice cream activity, in which you apply gold leaf to a soft serve ice cream cone, is also popular.

This pond is located in the center of the Kenrokuen garden, considered one of Japan’s three most famous gardens along with Kairakuen Park in Mito and the Korakuen Garden in Okayama. The largest of the garden’s ponds, its surface area is 5,800 square meters and it is 1. 5 meters deep at its deepest point. The expansive, secluded pond serves as a symbol of the garden, and the colors of its waters vary depending on the position from which one is looking. Many of the garden’s most famous sights are found here, including the Kotoji Stone Lantern, Nijibashi Bridge, Karasaki Pine, and the Sazaeyama hill. The primary walking path around the pond is without hills and incorporates universal design principles, ensuring that even wheelchair users can leisurely traverse the path. Visitors can enjoy the seasonal views along the path.

C’est le plus grand étang de Kenroku-en et il est situé en plein centre du parc. C’est un très bel endroit pour prendre de belles photos.

This Kaga Yuzen dyeing studio is operated by Chibeni, a dyer established some 200 years ago during the early Edo period. Here visitors can see a variety of Kaga Yuzen kimono and other craft articles made by Ikko Teranishi, the seventh head of a Kaga Yuzen dyeing family; in addition, visitors can also try actual Yuzen dyeing themselves. The facility also has a shop where you can purchase original and exclusive Yuzen-dyed items.

The exhibits may seem faded and old, but they show an age old tradition and beauty that is the very essence of Japan. The silks are beautiful.

Counted as one of Japan's Seven Shinmei Shrines or one of Three Shimei Shrines. The shrine provides worshippers with protection from evil and misfortune and, since ancient times, has been nicknamed ""Oshinmei-san."" The shrine's Himachi Festival and Aburimochi Shinji, regular spring and autumn festivals have been held for over 300 years. A giant Japanese zelkova tree on the shrine's grounds is some 1,000 years old and is the biggest such tree in the prefecture."

This Buddhist temple is counted as one of Japan’s three greatest Marici (Buddhist goddess of war) temples, alongside the Tokudaiji Temple in Tokyo and the Zenkyoan Temple, a sub-temple of the Kennin-ji Temple, in Kyoto. The temple enshrines a statue of Marici which was used as a protective charm by the samurai general Maeda Toshiie, the first lord of Kaga Domain. Standing at the midpoint of Mt. Mukaiyama in what would be the unlucky “kimon” northeast of Kanazawa Castle, the temple was built by Kaga Domain’s chief vassal Toda Shigemasa on the order of Maeda Toshinaga, the second lord of the domain. The grounds offer a sweeping view of the homes along the Asano River as well as the Higashi Chaya District. The five pine trees standing on the temple grounds served as material for a novel written by Kanazawa-born author Kyoka Izumi. The temple is also famous for its sunsets, and even Japanese literature researcher Donald Keen once praised the scenery visible from the site.
