A Kanazawa oden restaurant embraced by a wide array of fans, from tourists to people on business trips to local regulars. Kuroyuri is located inside the Kanazawa Hyakubangai Anto shopping mall, which is connected directly to JR Kanazawa Station. The secret to the restaurant’s popularity is its secret recipe oden, which has been continuously replenished and made the same way for over a half-century. Some of the oden options include kurumabu baked wheat gluten rings which gush out broth with every bite, daikon radish slices, boiled eggs, and ganmo deep-fried tofu and vegetables. The restaurant also offers a full menu of local Kaga sakes and a la carte dishes made with Kaga vegetables and seafood stocked from the Omi-cho Market.

It was our first experience eating Oden, the staff were very friendly and helpful. They helped us with our selections. As noted in the other reviews, there was a line up but it moved quickly. The...

    Ishikawa Kanazawa-shi Kiyokawamachi 3-11
A long-standing ryotei restaurant standing on the bank of the Sai River and one of only a very few restaurants still operating today which serve traditional Kaga ryotei cuisine. Housed in a mansion built at the end of the Meiji period, the restaurant has six private rooms as well as a banquet hall, each of which has a different but elegant atmosphere. All rooms offer a view of the restaurants garden, and diners can enjoy picturesque seasonal scenery with their meal - cherry blossoms in spring, fresh verdure in summer, fall foliage in autumn, and a charming snowscape in winter. The restaurant’s tasteful and extravagant Kaga kaiseki course cuisine, incorporating seasonal local ingredients and seafood, is like art. Here you can taste first-class cuisine with an emphasis on “omotenashi” - hospitality - the greatest of care has even been put into the tableware used. Suginoi was listed in the Michelin Guide Toyama Ishikawa (Kanazawa) 2016 Special Edition. The nearest station is Nomachi Station.

At this Japanese cuisine restaurant, you can indulge in “Kanazawa-esque Seafood and Sake,” made by the owner who trained in Kyoto and Tokyo. This “conveyor belt” sushi shop is located inside “Kanazawa Hyakubangai,” a commercial center just past JR Kanazawa Station. Popular enough to draw in not just local shoppers, but tourists as well. They offer primarily the bounty of Hokuriku’s sea acquired that day from Ishikawa and Toyama ports, all at a reasonable price. Their pride and joy may be the sushi rice which features a combination of Noto koshihikari rice with vinegar from a classic shop. Besides sushi, there are great dishes like fresh sashimi, rare tastes of Hokuriku and famous Toyama white shrimp.
