Since the Meiji Era the shop started making fishing flies to catch ayu sweetfish and was awarded a certificate of merit at the “National Industrial Exposition” in 1890. Currently, apart from the traditional Kaga flies and sewing needles, marking pins with cute decorative heads and feather accessories are also popular. On the first floor, the shop sells shamisen and also takes orders for custom instruments. On the second floor workshop, visitors can observe the shamisen production process. Visitors also hear casual shamisen performances here and the staff are happy to show beginners how to hold and play a shamisen.
