  • Banshoen Park

    Ishikawa Kaga-shi Yamashiro Onsen
    A park overlooking Yamashiro Onsen, the foremost hot spring district in the Hokuriku region and also known as “Yunogawa.” The Banshoen Sazaedo, a unique, spiral-shaped observatory resembling a turban shell, stands on a small, lush hill in the park. From the observatory, visitors can get a sweeping view of Kiba Lagoon, Shibayama Lagoon, the Hakusan Mountains, and even the distant Sea of Japan. Stone Buddhist statues stand along a nature trail extending away from the Sazaedo, its gently undulating curves ending behind the Yakuoin Onsenji Temple. There are many steps and hills in the park, but the park provides bamboo canes created by a local volunteer group, helping everyone to enjoy a pleasant walk on its grounds.
  • Uchinada Beach

    One of the beaches of the Uchinada Coast extending nine kilometers north to south along the Sea of Japan. The biggest beach on the coast, it is also the closest to Kanazawa City. The beach is wide and sandy, its waters shallow. During swimming season, the beach is visited not only by town residents but also people from across the prefecture and beyond. In most years, jellyfish appear from around the time of the Bon Festival, and thus it is recommended to come before this time. You can see people enjoying marine sports such as windsurfing and bodysurfing as early as before the start of the rainy season.

    Utatsuyama Park is located a 15-minute drive from Kanazawa Station. In this garden situated inside the park, visitors can view some 8,000 azaleas gathered in one place. 12 varieties of azaleas have been planted in the garden, and when they come into bloom from mid-April to mid-May each year, large numbers of visitors come here to see the flowers.

    This nature park extends from Mt. Sekido to Mt. Goishigamine (461. 1 meters), from their ridges to their bases. The park is a popular destination for picnics, camping, and other outdoor recreational activities. The park’s campground can accommodate 200 campers and also has a barbeque area. From the park’s scenic lookouts, visitors can get sweeping views of Nanao Bay and Toyama Bay, and the rural scenery of the Ouchi Rift Valley.
  • Notojima Marine Park Beach

    A calm beach located on the inner side of Nanao Bay, making it the perfect destination for families with children.     A campground located right in front of white sands and blue ocean. At night, you can enjoy a campfire under a beautiful star-filled sky. From mid-July to the end of August, you can pitch a tent and camp in the great outdoors. Facilities include a barbecue area, shared cooking area, and hot water showers, ensuring a comfortable outdoor experience. The campground does not rent tents, so be sure to bring your own.
  • Cape Nature Trail

    Ishikawa Suzu-shi Noroshimachi
    This 10. 7-kilometer-long nature trail starts in Suzu City’s Takaya-machi, passes through Kinoura and Orito, and ends in Noroshi. Reefs, virgin forest, sandy beaches, and other diverse terrain features can be found along the route, and walkers can take in the great outdoors. The trail was also selected for inclusion in a list of 500 of Japan’s beautiful walking routes. A walking rally is held on the trail each year on the first Sunday in October.

    This park was built on the site of the outermost region of Komatsu Castle, once the residence of Maeda Toshitsune, the third lord of Kaga Domain. A traditional Japanese strolling garden built around two ponds and a waterfall in the center, a stream connects the ponds and the waterfall and artificial hills provide a background landscape. The park also has cultural facilities, including a history museum, art museum, library, and teahouse. The grounds are also famous for cherry blossoms, wisteria flowers, azaleas, irises, and other seasonal flowers, as well as an old pine of historical interest.

    This forest park has a central lawn surrounded by a flowering tree garden, conifer forest, native plant forest, deciduous broad-leafed tree forest, evergreen broad-leafed forest, special purpose forest, cherry tree and camellia garden, and Japanese garden, and more than 15,000 trees spanning 800 varieties grow on its grounds. In particular, the park boasts some of the largest swaths of cherry trees and camellias of any in the country. Visitors can also see wild birds, serow, and squirrels. Bears can appear in the forest, so particularly care should be paid in the early mornings and the evenings.

    This museum contains exhibits such as a model recreating what the studio of Living National Treasure-designated swordsmith Masamine Sumitani looked like in action. The museum also has exhibits on the achievements of Akegarasu Haya and Hakka Matsumoto, and a model which recreates the Todaiji Temple’s Yokoe-no-Sho manor, a designated National Historic Site. In addition, visitors can view folk items such as farming equipment used in the region in ancient times.

    A station on the Hokuriku Railroad Ishikawa Line located in Tsurugi-honmachi, Hakusan City, Ishikawa Prefecture. The station has two platforms with two sets of tracks, one for each platform; the station is only staffed during the daytime. Once, the station was served by the now-abolished Nomi Line; later, the Hokuriku Railroad stations up to Kaga Ichinomiya Station were abolished, and today, this station is the last stop on the Ishikawa Line.

It is a popular spot for Kanazawa souvenirs and exhibits and sells items mainly by young local artists. The third floor is a gallery where exhibitions are held and the fourth floor is an art school.
  • Kazue Town Ryokusuien Park

    Kazue Town Ryokusuien Park is located in the Chayagai area in the Kazue Town district of Kanazawa City. A section of the Sogamae (a defensive moat and earthen wall) that provided two layers of protection for Kanazawa’s castle town has been reconstructed in the Park, enabling visitors to get a real feel for the history of the castle town. In spring, visitors can also enjoy the sight of beautiful shidare zakura (weeping cherry) trees.
