- "This bay area is located approximately a ten-minute walk from Kaiwomaru Station on the Manyo Line. Centered on the pure white sailing ship Kaiwomaru that is called ""The Lady of the Sea,"" the park has an 18,200 square meter-event plaza shaped like a shell, and a picnic area where you can barbecue, making it a place bustling with families and other groups of people. The recreational embankment where you can relax and see the surroundings while feeling the sea breeze is a perfect place for couples. The inside of Kaiwomaru is open to the public, and can be enjoyed for the illuminated ship at night."

- "This historic site, the location of a Meiji period shipping agent, is a 20-minute drive from JR Toyama Station. Many a fortune was made through shipping in Higashi-Iwase Port between the last days of the Tokugawa Shogunate and the Meiji period. The merchant ships of the period, kitamaebune (""northbound ships""), where also called ""double ships"" because you could double your money in each direction. You can truly feel the history of Edo period merchant shipping in this home, a nationally-designated Important Cultural Property built in 1878. The flowing style of the curator makes tours a lot of fun. The building's biggest attraction is its luxurious construction using high-quality materials from across Japan, including a door made with Yakushima cedar, Noto black pine beams, and a massive monolith from the Shodoshima Islands. The building's oi-no-ma (a room that serves as a kitchen and living room), kote-e (plaster relief pictures) depicting dragons and tigers, and nightingale floor passageway adjacent to the courtyard add to its stately manner."

- This is Japan’s biggest arch type dam costing a huge 51.3 billion yen and requiring the total work of 10 million people to build over seven years. 10 cubic meters of water are emitted every second from the 186-meter-high dam that is Japan’s tallest. Within the grounds is a viewing platform, viewing plaza and discharge viewing stage, and one can observe the highly impressive discharge at close distances. These sightseeing opportunities are held from the end of June to mid-October.

- The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, most of which is located in the Chubu Sangaku National Park, is one of the world’s great mountain sightseeing routes. Non-commercial vehicles cannot travel within the Alpine route, which is linked by six other modes of transportation, such as highland buses, and ropeways. The grandeur of nature through each of the four seasons inspires many feelings and emotions. Approximately one hour by car to Ogizawa parking lot from Azumino Interchange on the Nagano Expressway.

- A sightseeing location in Funagawashin, Asashi, Shimoniikawa. It's a famous location to view the cherry blossoms with nearly 280 Yoshino cherry trees covering 600 meters along both sides of the river. Also in spring the early blooming tulips and rapeseed blossoms come into bloom and the peaks of the Northern Alps still covered in snow. The cherry blossom tunnel, and the tulips and rapeseed blossoms mix into a scene called the Spring Quartet.

- The station stands as if jutting out from the eastern cliff of the Tateyama Mountain Range. It was built by transporting materials by helicopter. From the observatory on the rooftop of the station building, you can enjoy a spectacular view of the Ushiro-Tateyama Mountain Range and Lake Kurobe. It is also famous for its autumn leaves, and the view from the ropeway, usually from mid-September to early October, is truly magnificent.

- In winter when the road around Murodo Terminal is cleared, walls of snow on either side are created. The 500-meter continuous stretch of snow walls has come to be called the Snow Corridor. The huge walls of snow reach close to 20 meters high and are slowly carved out by bulldozers over around a month-long period. During the Tateyama Kurobe Snow Corridor Walk held each year only from mid-April to late June, many tourists come here from across the country and even the world to see and touch these stunning walls of snow up close.

- This park is in Honmaru, Toyama City. It holds the ruins of Toyama Castle, once the castle of the Maeda family lords of the Toyama domain. It has a castle tower used as an observatory and folk museum, art museum, lawn, outdoor stage, and other facilities. In spring it is a popular cherry blossom viewing sight.

In addition to being a popular driving course, the road is also a popular cycling and even walking destination. The road is also famously used as the course for the Shinkiro Marathon usually held in late April."

- This cedar tree stands near the Tateyama Cable Car Bijodaira Station and Tateyama Highland Bus Bijodaira stop, and, according to legend, was once a girl who was turned into the tree as divine punishment for climbing the holy mountain during a time when only men were allowed to. The cedar trees in the Tateyama Mountain Range are known as Tateyama cedars, and Bijodaira, enshrouded by virgin forest, is famous for its beautiful Tateyama cedars. The tree is located on the south side of the station.

- This fountain located in front of Toyama Chihou Railway Unazuki Onsen Station in Kurobe City was created in 1973 on the 50th anniversary of the opening of Unazuki Onsen. It has now become a symbol of the Unazuki hot springs town. Plentiful amounts of hot 60 degree centigrade spring water drawn from Kuronagi Onsen in the Kurobe Gorge is shot up out of the fountain, creating steam. This figurative front door of the now 90 year-old Unazuki Onsen is well known as a photogenic tourist spot.

- This is a 420 year old Edohigan cherry tree, 13 meters high with branches extending 15 meters in all directions, and was designated a natural monument by the prefecture in 1965. The best time to view the tree is around mid-April.

- This area is famous as a turning point in the war between the Genji and Heike, when the Genji won the battle of Kurikara in 1183. It's the perfect place for history hunters, as it's filled with things to see. The double-flowered cherry trees here are also famous, and every year from late April through early May it's the location for a popular Sakura festival. Initially, it took over twenty years to plant over 3,000 cherry trees here, and now there are around 6,000 double-flowered cherries on the grounds. At night, they're lit up with 300 paper lanterns.

- This spot is famous as an ancient battlefield where Kiso Yoshinaka attached fired torches to horns of 500 cows and released to the Heike army and won. It happened approximately 800 years ago when Kiso Yoshinaka battled the Heike general Taira no Koremori at Kurikara in the Genpei Battle. It's a popular hanami spot in the Hokuriku region, and in Spring it is filled with 6,000 blooming double-flowered cherry trees, and the fall foliage is also beautiful.

- This village was conceived in the 1970-1980s in an attempt to construct buildings with cultural value, and that would be loved by the local population. The city of Oyabe constructed these 35 public buildings to resemble famous European structures. You can tour a nursery school, elementary school, junior high school, and community center to enjoy their unique characteristics. It's a new kind of sightseeing spot in Oyabe.

- Ever since monk Hakushin of the Mino province trained here, this spot has been considered a holy land. Descending the stairs about 30 meters from the approach into the valley will bring you to a stone statue Yakushi Kannon-do temple. The spring bubbling up to the right of the Yakushi Kannon statue is considered holy, and is believed to cure ailments. The Ministry of the Environment designated it one of Top 100 Famous Water in Japan, and it is usually crowded with visitors.

- This spring is said to have sprung up in the hoofprint of the horse of Zuisen-ji founding priest Shakunyo, about 600 years ago. Legend says that Shakunyo named it after a gourd (uri) presented by local villagers broke open (wari) because the water was so cold. The delicious water has been selected one of Japan's Top 100 Famous Water, and people come from even outside the prefecture to taste it.

- This automaton clock is installed by the Minato-gawa river in Honmachi, Himi City. It's designed around Ninja Hattori, one of manga artist and Himi native Fujiko Fujio (A)'s most famous characters, and at regular times the characters appear and put on a water and music show. It happens every hour between 9:00 and 19:00 weekdays, and every half hour on weekends and holidays.

- This famous sakura spot is in central Toyama City. About 1.3 kilometers along the Jinzu river planted with cherry. The view of them against the mountain scenery from bridges across the Jinzu river, including Jinzu Ohashi Bridge or Toyama Ohashi Bridge, is incredible.

- This Jizo-son statue is enshrined along the Itachi river in Ishikura-machi, Toyama City. The same area is famous as being the site of a spring pond filled with Itachi river area water, selected one of the 100 Exquisite and Well-Conserved Waters in Heisei Era. The supplied Mitaraisui, known as cooling water that soothes any ailment, and is known as a local water that prolongs life. People flock here to collect it.

Toyama is one of the three prefectures that house the Japanese Alps, with its southern and eastern borders comprising one long stretch of mountains, out of which the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is forged. While traditional crafts fill the northern coastal cities of Toyama and Takaoka, thatched roof houses offer unrivalled views against a backdrop of fantastic scenery at Gokayama in the mountainous area in the south of the prefecture.
