Standing on the beautiful beach, visitors have superb views of the peaks of the Tateyama mountain range. - Iwasehama Beach
- Leisure / Hobbies
- Toyama Pref. Toyamashi Iwasekoshimachi
- This beach a five-minute walk from Iwasehama Station can be accessed by light rail. The beautiful Koshi no Matsubara pine grove, selected as one of Japan's best seaside pine groves, fills the view of people on the beach. The beach also offers magnificent views of the distant mountains of Kurobe. Popular for activities such as surf fishing, the beach is beloved by the young and by families and becomes crowded with beachgoers as soon as the summer excursion season begins. Located nearby is Toyama Port, known as the ocean entrance to Toyama City, as well as the historic townscapes of Iwase, which prospered due to the Kitamaebune merchant ships of the Edo period.

- Toyama Kurobe-shi Ishida
- This is the representative beach of Toyama Bay, and brings crowds of bathers in season. The beach is made up of rounded pebbles, and there is a fishing wharf nearby where you can wet a line. There is a Marine Festival and fireworks show every year in early August.

Toyama Areas
Toyama is one of the three prefectures that house the Japanese Alps, with its southern and eastern borders comprising one long stretch of mountains, out of which the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is forged. While traditional crafts fill the northern coastal cities of Toyama and Takaoka, thatched roof houses offer unrivalled views against a backdrop of fantastic scenery at Gokayama in the mountainous area in the south of the prefecture.
