    This is a local museum exhibiting the history and the folklore materials of Murakami City located in Sannocho, Murakami City, Niigata Prefecture. On the first floor of the building, there is a display of records and tools related to the “Murakami Taisai Festival” which is held every year on the 6th and 7th of July. There are three gorgeous festival floats called the “Oshagiri” on display at all times. On the second floor there are displays of swords, armor and historical materials of the owner of Murakami Castle. In March an “Exhibition of Hina Dolls passed on by the Murakami Castle Town” is held.

    村上駅からバスを利用して行きました。 館内には『おしゃぎり』という山車が 保存展示されていて、立派な山車を近くで観ることができ良かったです○

    陸上自衛隊新発田駐屯地の敷地の中にある兵舎。史料館として活用されています。城跡を軍が接収するのは日本全国のあるあるですが、その流れでそのまま自衛隊が土地を使用しているそうです。なので新発田自慢の三重櫓の内部は非公開とのことです。

    関川村にある歴史資料館で、入館料は300円。 地域の歴史に関する展示があったり、甲冑を着ることができましたが、内容としては地域の歴史資料館といった感じで面白みには欠けるところがありました。
