    Eguchi Dango Main Shop located on Nagaoka Bypass in Miyamotohigashikata Town, Nagaoka City is a dango (sweet dumpling) shop which opened in 1902. It has a shop to sell sasadango made at the adjacent factory while a shop for freshly baked dango, a sweet parlor restaurant, and a café are attached. It also has Yukikangetsu which is a café with a sales area for European-style sweets, and the Mochidoma where you can experience sweet-making such as kushidango making.

    本当にココのみたらし団子が大好きなのです。しかもこちらでは入り口で作り立てを頂けます。 初めてお団子以外のお食事をいただきましたがこちらもおいしい！茶色いお赤飯はこちらの郷土料理なのかな。もっちりとてもおいしかったです！

    Shasaian Hirashio is a souvenir shop with a café featuring Japanese-style sweets on the second floor, located outside the main gate of Yahiko Shrine. Originally built in 1849 by the shrine carpenters as a traditional farmhouse, the building was repurposed by the German architectural designer Karl Bengs. The eye is drawn to the red pine colored outer walls, the modern interior furnishings, and the black pillars and beams. The first floor features furoshiki wrapping cloths, hand towels, incense, traditional sweets, and other Japanese-style souvenirs, and customers can relax in the tea shop on the second floor, which sells sweets made from ingredients, such as the highest grade of matcha tea from Uji and carefully selected Tamba Dainagon azuki beans. The nearest train station is Yahiko Station.

    ゆっくり行きましょう。そんな雰囲気の場所でもあり、パワースポットでもあるでしょう。 敷地的にはそれほど広くないのですが、隅々まで見られるような神社です。

    This specialty olive oil and gelato store is located in Bandai, Chuo Ward, Niigata City, Niigata Prefecture. It has a distinctive Italian flag at the entrance. The best-selling point of the store is its “Happy Feeling,” the fact that the store is overflowing with warmth for its customers. The store uses only good-quality, low acidity olive oil and Italian ingredients in its products. The store is proud to serve its gelato, which won an award in the 2010 National Gelato Competition, and does not use any additives, egg, flour or alcohol at all. The cute arrangement of the rose petals is especially popular with female customers. Customers can also enjoy homemade paninis and Tuscan-style coffee in the store.

    This Japanese-style confectionery shop was opened by the owner, who fascinated by Japanese sweets, went to Kyoto to train in their making. It is located in Nishi Ward, Niigata City, Niigata Prefecture. The interior of the shop is a colorful mix, full of seasonal sweets, joined on the shelves by baked confectioneries. The shop’s famous “Kifuku Mochi” is created with paste made from the finest Daiganon Azuki beans from Tokachi, wrapped in mochi and sprinkled with kinako (roasted soybean powder). There is a tatami floor area inside the shop, where customers can enjoy the sweets, and also a summer-only homemade syrup shaved ice dessert, which is very popular.

    新潟のかき氷と言えばここの「宇治みるく金時」一択でしょう。冬はショコラ味のパアンドケーキやいちご大福など、一年を通じてお菓子を楽しめるお店です。

    粟島の港近くにあります。２階はゲストハウスになっています。千代華（どら焼きの生地１枚版）のみを売っています。生地を鉄板で焼いて、その上にあんこを置いて半分に折ります。１個１００円です。時間がたつと、焼いた生地がしっとりしますが、焼きたてはぱりぱりしていて、これも美味しいです。お店の前にベンチもあるので、焼きたてを買って、すぐ食べるのもいいですよ。

    店の隣が、あんこを作る工場です。あんみつは、あんこが美味しいのはもちろん、もちもちの白玉、手作りのあっさり寒天など、650円で大満足でした。パフェを頼むお客様さんもいました。秋はイチジク、というように、季節メニューもあるようです。
