Held continuously since 1919, the market consists of some 150 stalls stretching from Oshagiri Hall (Murakami History Museum) to an alley in Sanno-cho. Here you can find a wide variety of things for sale, including seasonal fresh vegetables, seafood, local specialty products, edible wild plants, and fresh flowers. Even today, the market serves as the pantry of Murakami and bustles with customers. You can also find stalls selling everyday essentials you’d never see in a souvenir store, and many locals as well as tourists can be seen in the market.

Started by the local young persons' association? in 1911, the market was originally held on dates with a 5 or 9 but changed the next year to being held on dates with a 3 or 8, which it has stayed ever since.     前にも「道の駅あらい」に立ち寄ったことがあるのですが、そのときは「カンパーナ」の方しかいってなかったので、今回は「ひだなん」に立ち寄り大正解、野菜の種類も果物も新鮮でお安かったです。昼前で少し早かったのですが、奥にあるそば処でお昼を頂きました。大かき揚げそば、ミニ天丼セットを頂きました。おそばもいい香りがして、お出しも辛すぎずむっちゃおいしかった。何より、天ぷらが軽くてさくさくでおいしかったです...

    ちょうどお盆とあって、館内は大賑わい。隣の施設では野菜の販売もしていて、とても活気のある場所でした。中は安い野菜が多く、新鮮で美味しそうでした。他にも手作りの草履やパも販売してました。午前中に行った方が、いい野菜があると思います。
