- Kanagawa prefecture Ashigarashimo-gun Hakone cho
- Located in Hakone Town, Ashigarashimo County, Kanagawa Prefecture and running between Gora Station and Sounzan Station is Hakone Tozan Cable Car, the oldest cable car in the Kanto region. Departing every 15 minutes, the cable cars take approximately 10 minutes to cover the 214 meter height passing six stations. You can find lots of sights such as Hakone Gora Park and hot spring resorts along the cable car route. Information about the sights is also broadcast in the cable cars. Looking out through the large windows the Gora cityscape gets better and better as the car climbs up the hill from where you can enjoy in full the four seasons of Hakone. The last stop at Sounzan Station is where you can change for the Hakone Ropeway.

- Hakone Tozan Train

- Kanagawa Pref. Ashigarashimogunhakonemachi Goura - Hakone-machi, Hakone-machi - Odawara
- Hakone Tozan Train is a mountain railway which starts from Odawara Station at an altitude of 14 meters and runs to Gora Station at an altitude of 541 meters via Hakone-Yumoto Station. It’s the perfect way to take in the Hakone sights with hot spring resorts and museums dotted about along the railway. There are many sharp turns and steep slopes, and the train is well-known for its switchbacks which happen at Deyama Signal Station, Ohiradai Station and Upper Ohiradai Signal Station. The driver and the conductor each walk to the other end of the train and the train switches into reverse to continue its journey. The hydrangeas along the railway line are in full bloom each year around the middle of June and it’s during this period that the train is nicknamed the Hydrangea Train.
Kanagawa Areas
Kanagawa prefecture acts as an extension of the Tokyo metropolis that spills over into coastal towns, most notably Yokohama city, heavily populated and known for its Chinatown and seaside attractions. Just the right distance for a day trip out of Tokyo, Kanagawa is home to some of Tokyo’s most accessible beaches, including around Kamakura, best known for its Big Buddha. Visitors can also travel a little farther afield for a weekend at Hakone onsen town.
