    Nicknamed the “Enosui” by locals, this aquarium is located inside Shonan Kaigan Park. The aquarium’s beautiful exhibits, designed to evoke a wondrous undersea world, are quite popular. The spherical “Jellyfish Planet” aquarium houses 14 varieties of jellyfish lit up with beautiful lighting. Once every hour, the world’s first 3D projection mapped jellyfish show is held throughout the entire floor. Enoshima Aquarium is filled with entertainment. A school of some 8,000 Japanese sardines can be seen swimming in a giant aquarium replicating the environment of Sagami Bay. An edutainment facility, another exhibit at the aquarium maps ocean currents and presents the various sea life which visits the area seasonally.

    Komayama Park crosses Hiratsuka City and Oiso Town in Naka County. It is divided into multiple areas; there is a TV tower and a rest house viewing platform in the Shonandaira Zone. The Children's Forest Zone is a good place for a barbecue, and the Asama Volcano Zone lets you get in touch with nature. It's a great spot for viewing the cherry blossoms in spring and the nightscape when the sun goes down.

    平日の昼過ぎに訪問。旧吉田邸のバラ園を見てからこちらへ。旧吉田邸から、車で1分ほど。平日は駐車場無料です。 やや上り坂がありますが、運動不足の70代の母も歩けるほどです。 展望台には屋根ありベンチもあり、海と山々を眺めながら休憩できます。風が気持ちいいです。 意外と園内は広いですが、5000歩弱くらいでした。

    Built as an area for yacht competitions during the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, since that time the harbor has contributed to the popularization of yachting in Japan and over 130 races are held here each year. The yacht house, distinguished by its undulating roof, can also be used as a conference hall. Nearby stands a concrete mound modeled after a turban shell which offers an excellent view of the central promenade, tide pool, and harbor, making it the perfect place to take a rest while enjoying the scenery.

    An art museum shrouded in greenery inside Takasuna Ryokuchi Park just an eight-minute walk from JR Chigasaki Station. The museum holds a wide variety of special exhibitions to provide visitors with opportunities to come in contact with all manner of art. In addition to three galleries, the museum also has a studio, book corner, and café overlooking the grounds, providing content and activities for the whole family to enjoy.

    茅ヶ崎市は人口24万人でコンパクトな規模ですが、市で比較的小規模ながら美術館も20年前から運営しているなど文化施設が充実してて、近所の方が羨ましいですね。事情を良く知らず隣の芝は青い的な発想かもしれませんが、年間パスポートで何回でもと言っても、実際には10回以上通うにはかなりの努力が必要かと思います。

    This ocean view restaurant is where you can enjoy authentic curry prepared over eight hours in the daytime, and additionally a variety of cocktails and live events as a music bar at night. It is frequented every day by music lovers of all ages.

    表題の通り。女性のふくよかな店員がオーダーをミスして持ってきたにも関わらず、間違いを指摘しても正しいものを作り直さずに間違って作ったものを無理やり渡された。雰囲気やお店の内観は悪くないが二度と行かない。楽しみにしていたので凄く嫌な気分になった。最低な対応だと思います。

    A nature park established in a vast, wooded area. The park’s most distinguishing feature is its recreations of the fields once used by Japanese people in remote mountain areas with small running streams, giving visitors the opportunity to observe crops being grown. The children’s play area has a trampoline and other play equipment as well as a 70 meter long giant slide in the center that is particularly popular. There is also a small river where young children can enjoy splashing in the water, a barbecue area, and facilities which let users experience the nature and culture of Japan’s rural wooded areas. There is a baby room in the park center as well, making it easy even for families with infants to enjoy the outdoors.

    A two-minute walk from Katase-Enoshima Station. Said to be the oldest swimming beach in Japan, the beach’s history dates back to the Taisho period. The beach has also been selected as one of the 88 best beaches in Japan and this veritable symbol of Enoshima is visited by some one million beachgoers annually. Swimming season is from July 1 to August 31, and swimming is permitted from 9 am to 5 pm during this period. There are 19 toilets at the beach including portable facilities as well as some 50 bustling beach clubhouses and restaurants.

    This small treehouse is located in the Chigasaki Shimin-no Mori forest and can be used by children and adults alike. Climbing the wooden stairs, visitors can look out over the park and Hinoki Square. Please note that only three people are allowed in the treehouse at a time, and that children under the third grade of elementary school and infants must be accompanied by a chaperone.

    A beach located in Katase Coast, Fujisawa City. Stretching about one kilometer, this long, shallow beach is divided into two areas during the season: swimming area and surfing area. It features good access, only a two-minute walk from Katase-Enoshima Station, with lots of beach-goer visiting every year. There is also a permanent beach volleyball court at Kugenuma Beach.

Kanagawa prefecture acts as an extension of the Tokyo metropolis that spills over into coastal towns, most notably Yokohama city, heavily populated and known for its Chinatown and seaside attractions. Just the right distance for a day trip out of Tokyo, Kanagawa is home to some of Tokyo’s most accessible beaches, including around Kamakura, best known for its Big Buddha. Visitors can also travel a little farther afield for a weekend at Hakone onsen town.
