This food theme park, which opened in the Shin-Yokohama district in 1994, was built around the concept of being able to eat ramen from all over the country without having to fly there. The interior, which recreates a Showa-period retro townscape, hosts famous ramen shops from not just all over Japan but from around the world. Attractions other than eating ramen include a gallery featuring exhibits on the history of ramen, a museum shop that offers souvenir ramen kits, a retro candy shop, events including live music, street performances, and picture story shows, and more. It is located a five-minute walk from JR Shin-Yokohama Station.

This is a small museum that re-creates the old Tokyo alleys full of ramen shops. There is some text information about ramen and its history but most of it is in Japanese only. It takes 10-15 minutes...

This stadium is famous in part as the home stadium of the Yokohama F. Marinos soccer team. The 2002 FIFA World Cup final game was also held here. One of the stadium’s distinctive features is its dedication to maintaining the natural lawn field in perfect condition throughout the year. The stadium is also one of the largest in Japan, seating up to 72,327. The stadium was designed with a variety of features to make it easier for spectators and athletes to feel a sense of unity. In addition to sporting events, the stadium also holds tours of its lawn. A food court and shops are also located in the facility.

Located in the Asahi Ward of Yokohama City, Zoorasia (Yokohama Zoological Gardens) is a zoo inspired by the vision of “Symbiosis of Life and Harmony with Nature.” Zoorasia covers a total area of approximately 53.3 hectares, making it Japan’s largest zoo. The name “Zoorasia” (combing “Zoo” and “Eurasia”) reflects the large size of the zoo, comparing it (tongue-in-cheek) to the size of the Eurasian continent. The zoo is divided into eight zones based on climatic and geographic conditions in different parts of the world, recreating the kinds of environment in which the animals live in the wild. Every summer, the zoo stays open in the evening as “Night Zoorasia”; public response to this initiative has been very positive.

I left Queensland for the zoo around 1:00 pm. But between subways, trains, lunch and a bus I didnt arrive until 3:30 pm And it closes at 4:30 pm !!! Why didnt I research this ? Anyway, I power...

This Kirin beer factory is located in Yokohama, the birthplace of the Japanese beer industry. Of all the Kirin beer factories in Japan, this one boasts the longest history. The factory's 80-minute tour is popular. Tour goers get to learn about the careful production process involved in Kirin Ichiban Shibori beer and the secrets behind its delicious flavor, as well as sample malt, taste and compare first press and second press beer wort, and enjoy other unique beer factory experiences. Kanagawa prefecture acts as an extension of the Tokyo metropolis that spills over into coastal towns, most notably Yokohama city, heavily populated and known for its Chinatown and seaside attractions. Just the right distance for a day trip out of Tokyo, Kanagawa is home to some of Tokyo’s most accessible beaches, including around Kamakura, best known for its Big Buddha. Visitors can also travel a little farther afield for a weekend at Hakone onsen town.
