    Akarenga Depot is a new souvenir shop situated in a red brick warehouse which was symbolic as an entrance to Japan and was built in 1913. Its concept is to collect and disseminate the assets of Yokohama. It has a retro Yokohama theme, and you can select goods filled with the charm of a somewhat nostalgic but modern Yokohama. It is about ten minutes’ walk from Bashamichi Station or Nihon-odori Station on the Tokyu Minatomirai Line.

    This market is located on the first floor of the Yokohama Daisekai complex is located at the intersection between Suzhou Alley and Minamimon Silk Road a two-minute walk from Motomachi-Chukagai Station and the Chukagai iriguchi bus stop. The market carries souvenirs and renowned products not only from the Chinatown area but also all of Yokohama. Its selection spans some 3,000 items and is the perfect place to drop by if you're looking to purchase some souvenirs. Highlights include Kitsch China merchandise, only available at this market and its sister establishment, the Yokohama Hakurankan; original peach oolong tea; and shark fin soup.

    This shop is located in the Yokohama Tin Toy Museum a five-minute walk from Motomachi-Chukagai Station and 15 minutes from Ishikawacho Station. The museum and shop can be reached by heading north on Yamate-hon-dori Street from the Motomachi-koen-mae bus stop, then taking the first right and following the road a short distance. The shop is operated by Teruhisa Kitahara, a famous tin toy collector who has appeared on television. The shop sells original toys and knickknacks inspired by Kitahara's collection. This is the perfect place not only to look for a Yokohama souvenir but also a little present for yourself.

    みなとみらい線の日本大通り駅から徒歩7〜8分です。初めてバレエの公演を見に行きました。大ホールは、バレエの殿堂という風にチラシには書かれていました。確かにオーケストラピットもあり、その通りの作りでした。ただ、古いため、一般客用のエスカレーターやエレベーターがなく、階段で3階まで上がったのは、なんとかならないのかと感じました。

    中華街のメインストリートにある、高級中華料理店です。クリスマスの飾りつけと二胡のライブ演奏を楽しみながら、楽しく食事ができました。海鮮料理が大好きなので、海鮮焼きそばやイカを材料にした料理、春巻き、シュウマイなどをオーダー。どの料理も日本人の口によく合うように、味付けされていて文句なしの調理。二胡の演奏を聴きながらワインと中華料理を心ゆくまで楽しめました。

Kanagawa prefecture acts as an extension of the Tokyo metropolis that spills over into coastal towns, most notably Yokohama city, heavily populated and known for its Chinatown and seaside attractions. Just the right distance for a day trip out of Tokyo, Kanagawa is home to some of Tokyo’s most accessible beaches, including around Kamakura, best known for its Big Buddha. Visitors can also travel a little farther afield for a weekend at Hakone onsen town.
