This art museum is notable for its distinctive symmetrical stonework exterior and for the open atrium of its grand gallery. In addition to seven exhibit halls, the museum boasts an art information center with a collection of more than 110,000 books, artist workshops, and more, making it one of the country's largest art museums. The museum, which has a collection of more than 12,000 works of modern and contemporary art, holds a wide variety of exhibitions. It is located a three-minute walk from Minatomirai Station on the Minatomirai Line.

This convention center is in the Minato Mirai area. The Pacific Convention Plaza Yokohama is one of the largest international conference halls in the world and hosts big global gatherings. It's connected to the Yokohama Grand Intercontinental Hotel and the National Convention Hall, the only national conference hall in Eastern Japan. It's also a MICE complex and holds a wide variety of events.

This municipal concert hall is in Queen Square Yokohama in Minato Mirai, Nishi Ward, Kanagawa Prefecture. It mainly hosts musical performances and features a large hall complete with a pipe organ and a smaller rectangular hall with adjustable reverb paneling. The venue is also used for public recordings of TV Asahi's classical music program Untitled Concert.

About an eight-minute walk from either the Bashamichi Station or the Nihon-odori Station on the Minatomirai Line, this free museum presents the current status of the coastal waters around Japan, and the materials on the importance of marine security. Inside the museum visitors are introduced via a panel display to the job of the Japan Coast Guard, its patrol boats and airplanes. Preserved and on exhibit is a spy ship that was self-exploded and sunk, along with a small watercraft and weapons that were recovered from 90 meters under the sea after the December 22, 2001 case of the Kyushu Southwest Seawaters Incident.

This shrine in Nishi Ward, Yokohama City is also known as the Ise of Kanto. Many worshipers pay their respects here, especially for the first shrine visit of the New Year. In addition to the Shichigosan children's festival and wedding ceremonies, they hold about 30 events a year, including an end-of-winter Setsubun festival on February 3. They also burn used amulets and ritual items in a sacred Otakiage fire and purify used hinaningyo dolls and other items.

The Sogo Museum of Art is located on the sixth floor of the Sogo Yokohama Department Store in Yokohama's Nishi Ward. It was the first department store based museum in Japan to be based on the Museum Law. Its holdings include about 200 oils and watercolors by the Western-style painter Shintaro Suzuki, and it exhibits art in a wide variety of genres, including Western-style art, traditional Japanese-style art, folk crafts, sculpture, prints, books, and photos from Japan and overseas.

There are vehicle displays, such as Nissan’s commercially-available cars, race cars, historical cars, and concept cars, as well as document exhibits which trace Nissan’s history. Every day they hold a test drive even where you can ride a Nissan car and follow a course set up on the general roads and highways nearby. This model train museum is located in Yokohama City, the site of the first rail line in Japan. It is a five-minute walk from Yokohama Station on the JR and private rail lines and a two-minute walk from the Shin-Takashima Station on the Minatomirai Line. It displays and operates the massive model train and train-related collection amassed by world-famous model train builder and collector Nobutaro Hara, said to be the world's largest. The collection includes historically valuable model railway that faithfully recreate real-life structures. Visitors are stunned by the sounds and the atmosphere of the Ichiban Tetsumo Park, one of the world's largest 1 gauge dioramas. The museum's hands-on program, which lets visitors drive the model trains with a real control stand (free of charge; first-come, first served), is also popular.

A trick art museum located on the fourth floor of Landmark Plaza in Yokohama Landmark Tower, a five minute walk from JR Sakuragicho Station. Here you can view trick art such as flat paintings which looking stunningly three dimensional and other artworks which will fool your eyes. Based around the themes of sea travel and adventure, the museum is divided into the departure, exploration, mysterious ship’s bottom, and treasure zones, where you’ll find artwork that can be visually enjoyed and touched, and even exhibits which you can take a photo with.

This outdoor event space is located on the grounds of Yokohama Landmark Tower a one-minute drive from the Minatomirai entrance, a three-minute walk from Minatomirai Station, and just south of the Bijutsuno Hiroba bus stop. The space is also a reconstructed stone dock for merchant vessels which is the oldest extant example of its kind in the country and has been designated a National Important Cultural Property. Notable for its distinctive dock shape, the space is frequently used for live music performances, concerts, and other music events.

"This Buddhist temple is located right next to Yokohama Civic Art Gallery midway between Hinodecho Station and Sakuragicho Station. The temple's principal object of worship is a statue of Acala; a ""hidden Buddha"" (a Buddhist statue not normally made viewable to the general public), the statue once belonged to the Tokugawa clan and was a gift of Shohan, a Buddhist monk who brought about a restoration of the temple. The sculpture is believed to be the work of the monk Shobo. In addition, area adherents to the Naritasan Fudoson Temple in Osaka began gathering here after the signing of the Treaty of Amity and Commerce Between the United States and the Empire of Japan, and this temple was the first to be established as a place from which to pray to the Naritasan Fudoson Temple from afar. The temple performs homa consecrated fire rituals and Acala seal mark blessing ceremonies. In addition, the temple also holds a grand homa ceremony in January. Additionally, visitors can purchase various omamori charms and cell phone straps depicting the Seven Gods of Fortune."

Kanagawa Areas

Kanagawa prefecture acts as an extension of the Tokyo metropolis that spills over into coastal towns, most notably Yokohama city, heavily populated and known for its Chinatown and seaside attractions. Just the right distance for a day trip out of Tokyo, Kanagawa is home to some of Tokyo’s most accessible beaches, including around Kamakura, best known for its Big Buddha. Visitors can also travel a little farther afield for a weekend at Hakone onsen town.
