    This park, along the Arasaki Beach, is located in Yokosuka City, Kanagawa. Along the hiking path formed naturally with boulders, one can see the scenic views of Miura Peninsula. Arasaki Park has various hills and points from which beautiful scapes can be enjoyed. The Yuhi no Oka provides a view of Sagami Bay, then there is the Picnic Hill, and the Shiokaze no Oka, meaning sea breeze hill, which is one of Kanagawa's top 50 Scenic Sites.

    This park is on the Chitose River in central Yugawara Onsen. It features flowers that appear in the Manyoshu classical poetry collection and has been recognized as one of the 100 Best Historical Parks in Japan. Historical and cultural features on the expansive grounds include a monument with poetry related to the hot spring and Manyotei, a tea house that incorporates sukiya style architecture from the Manyo period. You can enjoy tea to your heart's content. The deeply moving park scenery also includes a vermilion painted bridge over the Chitose River and a walkway surrounded by greenery.

    A nature park established in a vast, wooded area. The park’s most distinguishing feature is its recreations of the fields once used by Japanese people in remote mountain areas with small running streams, giving visitors the opportunity to observe crops being grown. The children’s play area has a trampoline and other play equipment as well as a 70 meter long giant slide in the center that is particularly popular. There is also a small river where young children can enjoy splashing in the water, a barbecue area, and facilities which let users experience the nature and culture of Japan’s rural wooded areas. There is a baby room in the park center as well, making it easy even for families with infants to enjoy the outdoors.
  • Hiroyama Park

    This park is arranged around the peak of Mt. Hiroyama in 5-Chome, Shinjuku, Zushi City. It features an observation deck and a rest house. You can see the surrounding scenery such as the city streets, Sagami Bay, Enoshima Island, and Mt. Fuji. Additionally, Japanese monkeys, ducks, peacocks and other animals are raised here.

    In this spacious park, around 230 thousand square meters, there are playground structures, open lawn areas, a pond, and an observatory. There are also free fields for baseball or soccer, and many families enjoy the park with their children. Surrounded by lush nature, approximately 300 cherry trees and 90 different plum trees are planted in the park, attracting flower-viewing visitors in each season.
  • Genjiyama Park

    Genjiyama Park, also known as Shirohata Hills or Hatatate Hills, is home to many sites including the grave of Hino Toshimoto, a statue of Minamoto Yoritomo, and one of Kamakura's Seven Entrances to the Kewaizaka Pass. In the spring you can enjoy the cherry blossoms and in the fall the changing autumn colors. Be advised that the park is hilly so comfortable walking shoes are advised.

    This nature park dedicated to the conservation of the creatures which live in the mountains and forests and along the waterways of the Miura Peninsula, is located a 15-minute walk from Keikyu Maborikaigan Station. The park grounds encompass forest, reservoirs, and waterways; a circular walkway in the park takes around 20 minutes to walk and along its length you can see the area's waterside and forest creatures. In early summer near the water, you can see Mnais costalis and Genji and Heike fireflies, while a variety of mushrooms can be spied in the forest in autumn. The park was originally the site of an army heavy artillery school, and the remains of an ammunition depot and bomb shelter, as well as un-excavated underground facilities are still located on its grounds.

Every year the lake is bustling with visitors in April for the Yamanami Festival, and in August for the Lake Sagami on the Lake Festival.

    This park is located an eight-minute walk from Minatomirai Station and Bashamichi Station and is also 12 minutes from Sakuragicho Station. The park is also located close to the Kokusaibashi/Cupnoodles Museum-mae bus stop. Facing the sea, visitors to the park can relax and take in a view of Yokohama Port right in front of their eyes. The charming park also delight's visitors with views of the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse and other distinctive Yokohama scenery; experiencing little traffic, the park is a well-kept secret. The park's night views are also beautiful. Many seagulls gather on the park's grass lawns.

    "A scenic park that opened in 1993. It's on a site that's been inhabited since the Jomon period over 6,000 years ago. Popular with the locals, until recently it had preserved its rural village atmosphere. In the center of the park there is a duck pond that's good for bird watching. It's surrounded by natural features like a sawtooth and konara oak forest, an ""insect forest,"" and a Japanese cedar and cypress forest. There are also four walking trails which are mainly used by the locals."
  • Takatoriyama Park

    "A 10-minute walk from the ""Takatori Shogakko"" bus stop a 10-minute ride on the Shonan Takatori Danchi Loop bus leaving from Keikyu Oppama Station. This park is built around Mt. Takatori, a mountain also known as the ""Shonan Myogi"" which is notable for its boulders with precipitous, vertical faces. There's an observatory at the top of the mountain, and on clear days visitors can enjoy a vast, panoramic view which includes Mt. Fuji. Another highlight is the giant Buddha statue carved into the mountain near the top. There are also hiking courses along which you can hike and take in seasonal scenery. In order to go rock climbing here, you must first register with the Mt. Takatori Mountain Climbing Council."

    This park is along Ashigara Highway in Yagurasawa, Minamiashigara City. Ashigara Pass used to be a key station for transportation linking the eastern and western country, and the “Manyoshu” contains a number of poems written by guards passing to western Japan about this area. Inside the park, you can get a view looking over Ashigara Plains and Sagami Bay, find inscriptions of “Manyoshu” songs related to Ashigara, see plants mentioned in those songs cultivated here, and enjoy coming into contact with Ashigara history, nature, and culture.

    A nature park situated on a slope next to Okura Ridge, a mountain path leading up Mt. To. The park has a grass lawn and arbor which visitors can use to take a break; the park is also a great and easily accessible destination for a picnic or forest walk. The park is divided into five areas - the Kashiwa no Mori, Mizuki no Mori, Shide no Mori, Aburachan no Mori, and Sasachi no Mori. Each area is outfitted with walking paths and has beautiful fresh verdure in spring and fall foliage in autumn for visitors to take in. There's also a parking area about three kilometers away, making it easy to come here by car.

Kanagawa prefecture acts as an extension of the Tokyo metropolis that spills over into coastal towns, most notably Yokohama city, heavily populated and known for its Chinatown and seaside attractions. Just the right distance for a day trip out of Tokyo, Kanagawa is home to some of Tokyo’s most accessible beaches, including around Kamakura, best known for its Big Buddha. Visitors can also travel a little farther afield for a weekend at Hakone onsen town.
