Kamameshi Nakai, sitting in the mountains of Okutama, is a relaxed restaurant surrounded by nature. All the kamameshi (rice dish served in a pot) dishes served here are delicious but their bamboo shoot kamameshi and chestnut kamameshi served only in season are particularly popular. Their salt-grilled river fish, such as rock fish, ayu (sweetfish) and trout are not to be missed either.

    紅葉が見頃の季節に、奥多摩温泉地に訪れ、ネットからのグルメ情報を頼りに、きのこ釜めしを美味しく賞味した。また是非来たい。

A restaurant and gallery inside a remodeled storehouse on the grounds of an old mansion dating back to the Edo period. Here you can get acquainted with an historic Japanese building and the country’s beautiful culture while enjoying a delicious meal. The differently decorated first and second dining areas are spectacular, but so are the new private dining rooms, halls, and tea room surrounded by bamboo and moss.

I come here about 3-4 times every year because I absolutely love this restaurant. Not only the food, but the building itself is spectacular, using a very old used-to-be rice granary. Itll transport...

Earth Garden is a restaurant which provides a menu full of hearty produce using the highest quality roppaku kurobuta (a kind of pork from black pigs), fresh vegetables, and a kind of seasoning rare less than one percent found at all in Japan. We had hiking here in Okutama and after that we enjoyed the lunch in this restaurant. Beautiful view, great service and delicious cuisine. I’ll be back soon!

The setting of countless iconic movie scenes and the inspiration for songs, poetry, and literature worldwide, Tokyo barely requires an introduction. It’s hard for the kaleidoscopic neon lights, wacky pop culture, and some of the world’s tallest structures not to instill excitement in any first-time visitor to Tokyo, whether you’re in the very center of the hustle and bustle in Shinjuku or Shibuya or looking in from the quieter suburbs.
