The establishment is notable for its popularity and is even frequented by movie directors and other celebrities; it also operates as more than a restaurant and hosts live music performances. The restaurant serves five special Japanese curry varieties, including chicken, beef, and vegetable, as well as mushroom, which is only available on weekdays. You can super-size your order and add toppings like eggs. The restaurant also offers a different array of combo meals for lunch and dinner.

An apple pie and sweets shop produced by Akiko Hirano located a four minute walk from Daikan-yama Station. The name Matsunosuke comes from Hirano's grandfather, who was a Noh costume artisan. Here you can enjoy healthy baked sweets and traditional treats from New England in the U.S. Particularly popular are the authentic American apple pies, made by baking fresh, uncooked apples wrapped as-is in the pie crust; and the rich, creamy New York cheesecake. The shop's fluffy pancake lunch is only served on weekdays.

Must visit if you love pancakes. After 10 am the have the best pancakes I’ve ever eaten in this tiny restaurant. Worth the trip if you are in Kyoto.

Said to have practically created cafe culture in Japan, Bowery Kitchen has an un-affectated, quiet air. A cafe which makes eating a regular meal, drinking a regular cup of coffee, and just regularly being feel special, Bowery Kitchen is the kind of place you'll feel like dropping by whenever. Another nice thing about Bowery Kitchen: lunch is served until 5:00 p.m.

This Japanese style restaurant, open since 2013, is in a quiet residential neighborhood near Setagaya Park. The quiet, spacious interior is perfect for long, relaxing meals. Their most popular item is the fluffy kakigori shaved ice made with ice from Nikko's Shougetsuhimuro. They top it with original sauces, and seasonal Japanese ingredients, and offer only items to make customers feel the deliciousness. They also make sure the appearance is cute, to please the eye as well as the palate. Our recommendation is the Tiramisu made with loads of mascarpone, and the mellow, Japanese style sweetness of Rich Purple Sweet Potato Milk.

This is one of over 20 stores in Japan of the Western confectionery shop from France. This location is the main store in Japan that serves as a flagship of French food culture. They have built their reputation on offering deliciously elegant sweets and confectioneries. The shop is mainly known for their macarons that are prepared with traditional techniques from the Edo period. They use a marzipan base with meringue added to it for a thick, round appearance. Their macarons are soft on the inside and wonderfully crisp on the outside. There's a salon on the 2nd floor where guests can order drinks to pair with their macarons. In addition to cake and pastries, they feature an extensive lineup of menu items to eat as well, including croque monsieur and gratin, which makes this a perfect spot to take break when you're out exploring Jiyugaoka.

Tokyo Areas

The setting of countless iconic movie scenes and the inspiration for songs, poetry, and literature worldwide, Tokyo barely requires an introduction. It’s hard for the kaleidoscopic neon lights, wacky pop culture, and some of the world’s tallest structures not to instill excitement in any first-time visitor to Tokyo, whether you’re in the very center of the hustle and bustle in Shinjuku or Shibuya or looking in from the quieter suburbs.
