    Tokyo Meguro-ku Jiyugaoka 1-24-12
A Shinto shrine in Jiyugaoka, Meguro City, Tokyo. Just when the shrine was erected is unclear. It is recorded that the shrine was built during a time when it was popular to visit Kumano Shrine; local residents formed a group and visited the shrine to formally receive and take back a portion of the shrine's deity and house it here. This area was once known as Tanibatake, and the shrine is popularly known as Tanibatake no Gongen-sama. The approach to the shrine is somewhat long with several torii gates standing over it, and the grounds are far quieter and lusher than anything one might expect to find in central Tokyo. The brilliant main shrine building is painted crimson. Kumano-jinja Shrine is also a famous power spot in Jiyugaoka. The shrine is believed to aid worshipers in finding love and in having children, and many women come here to receive a koi-mikuji love fortune slip. In spring, beautiful cherry trees blossom near the entrance.

    Tokyo Setagaya-ku Okamoto 2-19-1
The first Tangible Cultural Property of the ward was opened to the public in 1980. The Former Nagasaki Family's main house, the earthen storehouse, and the udegimon gate have all been restored, recreating a typical farmhouse from the late Edo period. In addition to touring the gardens and main house, you can also get a close look at traditional mingu folk items. A fire is lit in the hearth every day so you can get a feel for daily life in a traditional Japanese house. You can also learn about local customs and annual events, some of which are seen less often in modern life. These include the Boys' Festival, tea picking, setting up the offering shelf for the Obon festival, and the traditional year-end house cleaning.

    Tokyo Setagaya-ku Kitazawa 1-45-15
The first of the Honda Gekijo troupe's many theaters in Shimokitazawa. Originally it was a wooden two-story building with a bar on the first floor and apartments upstairs. It was reinforced with steel framing during large-scale renovations and resurrected as an unusual space hosting bars, long-term lodging, and a theater. It was then a rehearsal hall, but there was growing demand for a theater, leading to the facility as it is today. Shimokitazawa is called the Theater District, and some say The Suzunari was its start. Nowadays, a wide range of actors performing in everything from underground plays to comedies appear, and the playhouse is known for its unique performances.
