This restaurant is for the person who wants to enjoy a light meal and desert...

It is an attractive cafe with a classical atmosphere which is located along the former Yamate-dori Avenue. It is possible to pleasantly pass the time in this open-air space while bathing in the sunlight shining through the Zelkova trees which are in excess of 300 years old. It has the appearance of being a reproduction of a good old Italian cafe, which has been finished with antique-style furniture. There are mainly Italian dishes such as paninis and pastas. There are also various kinds of desserts and alcoholic drinks available.

Was in Daikanyama and decided to drop by this famous cafe for lunch. Ordered a vongole pasta, coffee and tiramisu. The coffee was good (not cheap though), but the food were disappointing. The pasta...

This teahouse and gallery is at the main entrance to Jiyugaoka. Constructed of mulberry wood over 90 years ago, time flows quietly by here and you could forget you're in the city. The window seats looking out on the courtyard are very popular. Inside the shop, dolls and antiques produced by the doll maker Fukuko Watanabe soften the hearts of guests. The menu features classy sweets including the Maccha tea set with seasonal Japanese confectionary, a maccha green tea and bean jam sweet set, and maccha ole with wagashi sweets.

This veteran Western confectionary was founded in 1933. It's hallmark item is the Mont Blanc cake the shop's named after. Yellow candied chestnut cream is topped with whipped cream resembling the snow-capped peak of Mt. Blanc. It's said to be the first shop to make Mont Blanc cake in Japan. They offer a variety of sweets made with chestnuts, like Mont Blanc for grown-ups that brings out the bitterness of the chestnuts and chestnut roll cakes. There's also a large cafe area, so guests can choose to eat in or take away.

A cafe which makes eating a regular meal, drinking a regular cup of coffee, and just regularly being feel special, Bowery Kitchen is the kind of place you'll feel like dropping by whenever. Another nice thing about Bowery Kitchen: lunch is served until 5:00 p.m.

Cuban restaurant from New York. Look for the freshly painted blue storefront and yellow interior decorated with Latin art and motifs of important figures such as Che Guevara. Try their menu of Cuban foods, rarely seen in Japan, such as their popular grilled corn, slowly grilled whole corn with cheese, and roast pork Cuban sandwich.

There are better Cuban alternatives in Tokyo - this one’s a real stinker. Where to begin? They charge a “seat fee” - and the place was almost completely deserted! The place reeked of cigarette smoke...

Tera Cafe Daikanyama is a popular hidden away cafe that incorporates the feel of a modern Buddhist Temple refuge for women where they can detox their minds and bodies. Attend lectures by Buddhist monks and get advice for your worries that you don't share with others. There are lots of other incredibly interesting classes such as sutra readings and bead making, group prayers with monks, slow aging, and ikebana (flower arranging) classes.

Tokyo Areas

around-area-map

The setting of countless iconic movie scenes and the inspiration for songs, poetry, and literature worldwide, Tokyo barely requires an introduction. It’s hard for the kaleidoscopic neon lights, wacky pop culture, and some of the world’s tallest structures not to instill excitement in any first-time visitor to Tokyo, whether you’re in the very center of the hustle and bustle in Shinjuku or Shibuya or looking in from the quieter suburbs.
