A seven-minute walk from Kameido Station on the JR Sobu Line. This long-standing senbei (rice cracker) shop originally opened in Tokyo's Oshiage in 1927. Operating out of an atmospheric, old-fashioned Tokyo-style establishment, the shop's displays are filled with a variety of products, such as the shop's vaunted hard-baked senbei. The shop's abundant selection of products includes cute turtle-shaped Kame no Ko-sen, Kameido Daikon Senbei, and spicy kaki no tane rice snacks. The shop also sells products in attractive boxes and bags, making this a fun place to look for souvenirs. The shop's huge Oiwai-sen, on which you can have a message written; and product assortments sold in gift boxes and tins make perfect presents.

"This confectionery shop has been committing themselves to the best taste of Edo sweets since 1869. The Okawaya building, which features a modern Japanese exterior, is located in the area where there once was a mansion of Kira's, one of the settings from the Fourty-seven ronin. One of their signature items is ""Chushingura no Kira-manju"" (sweet bun), a popular menu item made with white bean paste, elegantly finished with kneaded roasted soybean flour. Their soft and moist Japanese sweets include ""Sumidagawa monaka"" (bean-jam wafers), made in the shape of an oystercatcher bird playing around Sumida River, and ""Matsuzaka mochi"" (rice cake), which is only sold at Genroku Market in December, creating a seasonal atmosphere for these well-known fresh Japanese sweets."

Tokyo Areas

around-area-map

The setting of countless iconic movie scenes and the inspiration for songs, poetry, and literature worldwide, Tokyo barely requires an introduction. It’s hard for the kaleidoscopic neon lights, wacky pop culture, and some of the world’s tallest structures not to instill excitement in any first-time visitor to Tokyo, whether you’re in the very center of the hustle and bustle in Shinjuku or Shibuya or looking in from the quieter suburbs.
