A sakuramochi (rice cake with red bean paste filling wrapped in a cherry blossom leaf) shop founded in 1717 which invented Kanto-style sakuramochi and whose products have been popular since it first opened. Today, this little shop continues to serve the same great sakuramochi, made according to the same, unchanged recipe. Established in the late Edo period, Kototoi Dango continues to serve the same sweet dango dumplings as when it first opened its doors. Unlike most dango, Kototoi Dango's dango are not covered in a sweet sauce, nor are they served on bamboo skewers. Kototoi Dango's dango come in three flavors-adzuki bean, white bean jam, and miso and white bean jam. You can also order monaka wafer cakes in the shape of a black-headed gull filled with the same three flavors with an advance reservation. The shop closes when stock for the day runs out, so be sure to come early.

我が家の奥様と向島に天丼をいただきに行き、その足で「ことといだんご」を購入っしました。６ケ入をお土産にしました。米粉を小豆の餡と白餡で包んだものと白玉粉に味噌餡を入れて青黄色にしたものが入っています。上品な甘さで食べやすいものです。子供の時はもう少し甘いと感じていた記憶がありますが、あまり甘いものを食べる子供じゃなかったからかもです。

Jiman Kusa-moti has used fragrant Japanese mugwort since their founding 100-years ago. They have handed down this traditional way of making kusa-moti sticky rice cakes all this time by using no additives, only natural flavors, for their Japanese varieties. There are two types of kusa-moti, with and without red-adzuki beans. You can use as much honey or kinako powder as you like on the non-adzuki kusa-moti. Their grass wrapped mochi and large kusa-daifuku rice cakes are also popular.
