- This long-standing tempura restaurant situated in front of the Kaminarimon gate in Asakusa is the oldest in Japan. Founded in 1837, the shop has been in operation for over 170 years. San-Sada’s famous Edo-mae tempura is distinguished by the rich aroma and tawny color of the batter created by using sesame oil for frying. The shop uses its own unique sesame oil blend to fry only the freshest ingredients. Visited by countless numbers of tourists both domestic and international, San-Sada also offers a full menu of options for groups. In addition, the restaurant serves daily limited number sets and bento boxes for children. Lastly, San-Sada is also happy to discuss budget-appropriate options for parties and gatherings.

- This tempura rice bowl specialty shop is located behind the Nakamise Shopping Street in Asakusa, Taito City. The tempura portions on the rice are so huge that you can't even close the lid of the bowl. One popular item is their Oiri Tokyo Style Tempura Bowl with prawns, conger eels, sillagos, and flatheads.

This is a famous tempura restaurant in Asakusa. Tempura was delicious and the staff friendly and welcoming. Restaurant is small with a homely family feel. Go early to avoid long queue.

Amazing! Chef Shimomura’s sequence of Tempuras is delicate and very delicious. That’s why he got one Michelin star. I strongly recommend.

Tokyo Areas
The setting of countless iconic movie scenes and the inspiration for songs, poetry, and literature worldwide, Tokyo barely requires an introduction. It’s hard for the kaleidoscopic neon lights, wacky pop culture, and some of the world’s tallest structures not to instill excitement in any first-time visitor to Tokyo, whether you’re in the very center of the hustle and bustle in Shinjuku or Shibuya or looking in from the quieter suburbs.
