Tokyo Chiyoda-ku Chiyoda The Imperial Palace East Gardens
The Imperial Palace East Garden was created on land that had formerly formed part of the Honmaru, Ninomaru and Sannomaru zones of Edo Castle, during the construction of the Imperial Palace in Tokyo; the East Garden is open to the public. A number of historical remains and vestiges of Edo Castle can be seen in the East Garden, including part of the Tenshu-dai (the foundation platform for the castle’s main tower), the Ote-mon Gate, the Hyakunin Bansho guardhouse, etc., and as a result the East Garden attracts large numbers of both overseas and domestic tourists. The East Garden also has a wealth of natural beauty, including the “Prefectural Trees” presented to the Garden by every prefecture in Japan, making it a popular place for a stroll or just to sit and relax.

I enjoyed a walk around the gardens on a sunny Tokyo day. It is a pleasant place to stroll around and it is free to access. A fun walk to do while you are in the city.

    Tokyo Chiyoda-ku Nagatachou 2-10-5
This shrine located in the Nagatacho district of Tokyo’s Chiyoda City is considered to have begun when Ota Dokan constructed the Edo Castle in 1478 and transferred the guardian deity of Kawagoe Hie Jinja Shrine. After that, it became the tutelary shrine of Edo Castle and the deity was revered as the guardian of the Imperial Palace. Since the current shaden (main building) has been reconstructed, there are 123 works of art on the ceiling of the haiden (worship hall) to commemorate the 50th anniversary since reconstruction. The Sanno torii gate built in the direction of Akasaka is also famous for its unusual shape. Every year in June the Sanno Festival is held which is one of the big three Edo festivals, and the approximately 300-meter long festival procession is quite a sight.

It was different to other temples and shrines (different colours), it´s beautiful and the torii gates path is also beautiful and great for pictures. Loved the monkey statues and it has an authentic...

A shopping center located a six minute walk from Tokyo Metro /JR Yurakucho Station. Surrounded by hotels and performance art and movie theaters, the facility bustles with people in search of fashion and art. Many of the center's shops are quieter, more low-key establishments. In addition to floors dedicated to apparel, lifestyle goods, beauty, and restaurants, there is also a three-screen movie theater in the facility's annex. Outside, Nemu-no-hiroba is a popular meeting spot which hosts a miniature statue of Godzilla and whose walkway is embedded with plates featuring casts of Japanese moviestars handprints.

If you want to see the Godzilla statue I can confirm he is alive and well and residing in this district of Tokyo once again.

The setting of countless iconic movie scenes and the inspiration for songs, poetry, and literature worldwide, Tokyo barely requires an introduction. It’s hard for the kaleidoscopic neon lights, wacky pop culture, and some of the world’s tallest structures not to instill excitement in any first-time visitor to Tokyo, whether you’re in the very center of the hustle and bustle in Shinjuku or Shibuya or looking in from the quieter suburbs.
