Tokyo Chuou-ku Ginza 7-9-20 Ginza Lion Building 1F
Established in 1934, this is Japan’s oldest beer hall. The interior of the restaurant has a retro ambience with Japan’s first 250-color glass mosaic and columns decorated with barley motifs. Guests can enjoy a Sapporo beer poured by a beer master with an abundant assortment of snacks. We recommend the small glass of draft Sapporo beer called a Kinguchi Glass with the Ginza Roast Beef that is only available during limited times and with limited quantities.

The reason for coming here was to see the oldest beer hall in Japan, modelled after German beer hall. I was surprised that it was quite busy even at tea time, around 4pm, but then I reckon this type...

  • Kamiya Bar

    Tokyo Taitou-ku Asakusa 1-1-1
Japan’s first Western-style bar, founded in 1880. Here patrons can enjoy an “electric brandy,” a cocktail which has become a symbol of Asakusa. The unique name was invented in the Meiji period, a time when electricity was a rare sight, and is derived from the cocktail’s then-shocking 45% alcohol volume. Note that today, however, the electric brandy is served at 30%. Closest Station: Asakusa Station.

"A long-standing Japanese izakaya pub and restaurant established in 1905 which is located a short distance south of Ogawamachi Station. Identifiable by its old-fashioned exterior and red paper lantern inscribed with characters reading ""dozeu"" (an old way of spelling ""dojo,"" the Japanese word for loach), after dark, this popular restaurant often sees lines of waiting customers forming outside its door. The restaurant has space for 120 to 130 customers, and offers table seating as well as raised tatami mat seating, and one of its draws is its suitability for holding banquets and parties. The restaurant's signature dish is its horse meat sashimi, and customers can choose between two types - marbled with fat or lean red meat. The restaurant also offers a full array of dishes perfect for snacking on, including pickled dishes, yakitori grilled chicken skewers, and kushikatsu fried food skewers."

Moja in the House has numerous sofa booths able to seat six to eight people, and these comfortable, semi-private spaces are perfect for taking a break or a girls' night out. The restaurant's menu consists of American soul food favorites and original dishes. Moja in the House' signature dish is its chicken and waffles-crunchy, juicy fried chicken served over crispy, toasty waffles. Top it off with a heaping helping of maple syrup and enjoy! The Guinguette by Moja, the restaurant's sister establishment, is located on floor B1 of the same building.

Had the best chicken and waffles in my whole 3 years stay in Japan. The chicken was tender and juicy and the waffle was crunchy and soft at the same time. HOWW??

Just two minutes from the Akabanebashi Station exit at the Akabanebashi Station of the metro subway Oedo line. From within the bar on the 33rd floor, from which one can see Tokyo Tower nearby, you can enjoy the nightlights that can only be seen from this vantage point. Cocktails and wines are available, of which the Blason Rose, the Belle Epoque is recommended. All seating is smoking.

The view is Fantastic and the garden in front of the hotel is lovely. That’s the only positive aspect of this place. The service is average (to be polite), the staff were extremely uncooperative...

around-area-map

The setting of countless iconic movie scenes and the inspiration for songs, poetry, and literature worldwide, Tokyo barely requires an introduction. It’s hard for the kaleidoscopic neon lights, wacky pop culture, and some of the world’s tallest structures not to instill excitement in any first-time visitor to Tokyo, whether you’re in the very center of the hustle and bustle in Shinjuku or Shibuya or looking in from the quieter suburbs.
