    Tokyo Shibuya-ku Jinnan 2-1-1
This sports complex in the Jinnan district of Tokyo’s Shibuya City is comprised of two gymnasiums, an indoor pool, and an outdoor futsal court. It was constructed for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. Both the First and Second Gymnasiums were designed by the representative Japanese architect Kenzo Tange, and have a suspension style roof design that is unusual even by global standards. In addition to hosting matches for volleyball, futsal, handball, and basketball, it is often used for events such as concerts and martial arts tournaments.

Always a marvellous-looking building, its a bit hard to see in all its glory at the moment as its being redeveloped in time for the 2020 Olympic Games. At that time I expect it to look fantastic.

Tokyo Areas

around-area-map

The setting of countless iconic movie scenes and the inspiration for songs, poetry, and literature worldwide, Tokyo barely requires an introduction. It’s hard for the kaleidoscopic neon lights, wacky pop culture, and some of the world’s tallest structures not to instill excitement in any first-time visitor to Tokyo, whether you’re in the very center of the hustle and bustle in Shinjuku or Shibuya or looking in from the quieter suburbs.
